Potty on the Go Product Reviews?

Hiya Mamas,

I'm looking for an on-the-go potty for my 3 year old. We might be traveling (by air) and while she is rather far from being potty trained, I'd love some tools for when we're out of the house. I've seen online everything from inflatable seats to whole little mini-camping toilet apparatuses. I'd like to keep it under $30 if I can, since, hopefully, it will not be an item we are using for years and years, ya know?

Thanks for any referrals!

Hi H., I have this travel potty that is put out by Fisher Price. It folds up nicely and come with its own sporty travel bag, no one will know you are carrying a potty! It just used small plastic liners that you tie up and toss when you are finished, no cleaning needed. We have gotten a lot of use out of this potty and it has been worth every penny! Here is a link below.

We've used the Potette On the Go potty off and on for about 5 years with the 3 kids. We mostly keep it in the car for those emergency moments, and it works great. It is surprisingly small, but it still works well and because it's so small I can even set it on the floor of the minivan for privacy, where I think some of the others would be too large for that. We also don't use the special inserts. We usually just use a regular grocery bag lined with an outgrown/unneeded diaper or pull up. You can also use a product like Poise pads as an insert. At this point, we rarely use it, but it's saved us an accident several times when traveling.

If she's almost three, I wouldn't bother....just use the restrooms where you are...why buy extra gear? She's getting near the "magic age" of 3!

The best $25 I ever spent was on One Step Ahead's Travel Potty. I've never travelled by air with it, but it does fold up compactly. We bought it 2 yrs ago to use in our car, and my 4 1/2 year old daughter (potty-trained at 3) still prefers to use it over port-a-pots at playgrounds and the automatic flushing toilets in many stores (she refuses to go on them). I can't count how many times this potty has "saved" us from accidents. My 2 yr old is now using it, so I feel like I got my money's worth on this purchase. It uses regular 1 gallon sealable bags, so clean-up is easy and mess-free. I'd recommend checking it out on their website, and reading some of the reviews. http://www.onestepahead.com/product/osa/361755.html#tabs
Best wishes!!

I am also a fan of the Potette! They sell them at Babies-r-us. I bring it everywhere... sometimes it's just too far to get to the bathrooms... it has saved my butt at the zoo especially, several times! the newer version (than I have) can be used on a toilet seat as well!

When I was potty training my girls, i was looking into all the different things (fold up seats, liners to put on the seats, etc), and this is all you need!

Hi H.,
I too am an avid sling user, love them!!! I and my 2 year old daughter love the folding potty seat I bought from One Step Ahead. It is very affordable, truly compact, folds up and fits in my diaper bag. My daughter complained that it pinched her, so we put some painters tape over the area that unfolds under her legs - no complaints since. She loves that she has "her" seat anywhere we go - Target, the grocery store, the airport, etc. and that it has handles she can hold for security. I love that the handles keep her hands from touching everything yucky in a public restroom. When she's done, it just folds up and I put it in a ziploc bag in my diaper bag. The way that it folds keeps the parts that have touched the toilet on the inside. As I mentioned, we used it while traveling by air, with no problems. Since I always have it in my diaper bag, it's always available. At the time that we traveled, my daughter was kind of potty training, interested when she felt like it. It was great to be able to continue on her schedule as she was comfortable. She was so proud that she made pee pee at the airport! Anyway, I highly recommend it!

I bought http://www.amazon.com/Kalencom-POTETTE-Go-Potty-Red/dp/B0... and love it! Not only is it a travel potty (and you don't actually need to use the inserts made for it, you can just use a plastic bag), it's also a potty ring. I use it as a potty ring a lot because it's so small and fits nicely into my bag.

I LOVED the Potette (a previous poster wrote about it.) It's genious, and I wish I had invented it. You can use grocery bags for it. We moved here from NYC last year but when we lived there we used it at the playground and on the go- we even used it once on an airplane when we were stuck in our seats during turbulence! Even when your daughter is potty trained, there are going to be times you're not near a toilet- this you can use anywhere...good luck!
