Potty-training- Flushable Wet Wipes Recommendation?

I too am working on potty training, with my son, and use a non-flushable wipe. However, he is still wearing pull-ups or diapers so after we go pee on the potty and dump the poop in the big toilet I wrap the wipes with the diaper. Then drop them in the plastic bags the newspaper comes in or the plastic bags I use for fruits & veggies from the supermarket. After tying a knot, folding the bag over itself and retying I dump into a garbage can in the bathroom. Eliminates most odors and doesn't ruin plumbing.

PS I buy the Walmart brand to keep for the adults or occasional use for my son and they're really too thin to do a good job on his bottom. I personally prefer using baby wipes to ensure I get him clean.

Why not just use toilet paper?

I don't have a brand recommendation. Found them all relatively the same. But...! We used them with our first...Until we kept getting plumbing issues every year or so. Our plumber told use there is no such thing as "flushable" and proved it by pulling several wads of flushable wipes out of our central drain. yuck! so, while the wipes help with training, I would recommend throwing them out and not flushing them.

I use the generic! I agree with the others. No need to buy the expensive...

i just use the cheapest brand, store brand ususally

I either buy Target's generic brand Toddler wipe or Walmart's generic brand (Equate) "Personal Cleansing Cloths" from the feminine hygiene aisle. Whatever is cheapest at the store I'm at! No need to buy the National brand...I haven't found any difference between the big-brands and the generics.

We started out with Kandoo wiped and hand wash but quickly found no difference in brands. Certain sizes fit certain dispensers though so now we have an entire collection of dispensers! LOL
WE have had no plumbing problems from the wipes (so far). My son wil be 7 next month and he still likes to use the wet wipes for poo--they just do a better job.

There are specific wipes for flushing. You can find them by the toilet paper and by the diaper wipes. They are in smaller pkgs, a small square pkg instead of a rectangle pkg. There are a few brands but one poplular one is
Huggies and then another that begins with a "K", can't remember name. They all work good.

Please do not flush "flushable" wipes. Even though they say they are flushable and they may not cause any problems with YOUR plumbing, does not mean they don't cause problems down the line (literally). Many waste treatment plants cannot deal with "flushable" products and sometimes these products even damage equipment, leading to pricey repairs, that you the tax payer will end up paying for.
Remember how you learned to potty train? No flushable wipes around back then? Best is to just use toilet paper! Good luck!

hi, i have found that flushables aren't that good. they can cause problems too. we have a trash can with a linner in it right next to the toilet. we like the huggues naturals. unsented. they are nice and thick. i have to admit that we are all potty trained. but some times toilet paper just isn't enough to get the job done good. my youngest has had a hard time getting really clean and keeping them handy and close has really helped. company has even been greatful. they are great if you have hemmroides. sorry but after my kids it became a fact of life. mom of 7, R.

We use Target's brand toddler wipes (Up and Up?). They are flushable but I recommend only flushing 2 at a time.

Hi! I started out using the name brand ones (Kandos), but soon discovered the Wal-Mart brand! They are like a dollar per pack! They work just as well! I have used them w/both of my girls. My oldest is 6, she doesn't used them any more. My younger is 3 and she still needs them for when she poops. And we have not had any problems w/plumbing. (I think everyone has different plumbing. I know we can't use them at my moms. She has plumbing issues.) Hope that helps!
