Post Pregnancy Hair
I had my first baby about six months ago, and for the last few months, my hair has been a wreck. Aside from major hair loss, it just doesn't seem very healthy. I know it's hormones, but if anyone has any suggestions on getting through this phase, I would appreciate it. My skin is a mess too, so again, any suggestions for products or anything that helps would be great!

Biotin works great for the hair. It comes in a capsule and you can find it at health food stores. As for the skin, stay away from fried foods, chips, sodas and chocolate. These foods are not good for the skin. I also take vitamin supplements for the skin. (Hair, Skin & Nails) Drink plenty of water. Sugar also causes hair loss in women as we get older.
Sincerely,
T.

Hi I am a hairdresser of 43 years so I hope I can give you advise. Have you tried conditioners? Over the counter items that are good are Pantene products. Use there shampoo and get the condition also. When you shampooo rinse it really well, then apply the conditioner, leaving it on as long as you can. Place a plastic cap over it to hold in the body warmth. Then rinse it thoroughly.. Do this everytime for about 4-5 times, then put it on and work it through and rinse. This should put you back in good shape. I shampoo in the shower and I shampoo first thing, apply conditioner and leave it on while I wash my body and rinse just before getting out. Good luck

My friend is taking Folic Acid (pill form) every day, and her hair is growing fast. Purchase at any drugstore or supermarket and it is inexpensive.

I just had my second baby and my skin looks like I'm 14 again. My hair hasn't really taken a nose dive yet though. For your hair take wheat germ oil capsules. You can get them at wal-mart or a health food store. They completely stop hair loss and start to replace the nutrients. It's cheap, easy, and natural! As for your skin, Clearisil face wash works really well for break outs. Also, remember to drink a TON of water. Your body is using SO much more water to produce milk that it might not have enough for the normal functions of your other organs, and the work of cleaning out toxins which will can make you prone to more break outs, so DRINK MORE WATER. Just get a bottle and every time you pass a faucet, fill it up! I hope this is helpful!

I had this problem too. I do a hot oil treatment everytime I wash my hair, conditioner, and take CoQ10 vitamins along with fish oil vitamins. For my skin, I started taking yaz birthcontrol pills, and also the AVON microdermabrasion is Amazing. I sell AVON www.youravon.com/tbarlow. I hope this info helped. Sorry for the shameless plug, but I couldn't help myself. It really works.
