Wondering if there is any thing that is natural i can take, i am going to be 30 in two weeks and hate the ideal of taking a pill/ patch for ever. Been there, done that and I can totally help you! I am a Nutraceutical Rep. That mean that I help doctors to provide wellness products to their patients. One of the products that we provide is called Feminene. It is a blend of herbs that will definately help you. I used it myself!

If you want to know more, contact me via e-mail and I will be happy to clue you in. Know this ~ all supplements are not the same quality and quality counts in this matter.

Hi! I take black cohosh for night sweats, with much success. I am in peri-menopause, and had a partial hysterectomy years ago. Hopefully it will work for you too!! Best of luck.

I deal with a a company that has natural products and I use the product for menopause. I was getting the hot flashes, not sleeping well at night, etc. I found that our Estraval has helped tremendously-much better than any HRT from the doctor.

The increased risk of heart disease and breast cancer in women using HRT is ONLY for post menapausal women...IE OLD LADIES :-D

Because you are SO young the risks of not taking HRT outweigh any potential risks of taking it (osteoporosis being the big one!)

You need to communicate with your Dr. on medications to find the one that works best for YOU.

Hello, I have not had a total hyst, but am in perimenopause at 40. I understand the concerns. I have been looking into it myself. Some women have hot flash/night sweat relief by taking soy. Dr. Susan Love's "Hormone Book" has a lot of options, and I found another one at the library "A Natural Woman's Guide to Hormone Replacement Therapy" by Dr. Sara Rosenthal. Both of these discuss alternatives to taking "drugs", but isn't everything you take, a "drug". That's why I like these books, especially the Hormone Book. It also covers lifestyle changes, and diet changes that can help. You

You can also get a copy of "Menopause Guidebook" I got mine from my gyn. It is distributed by NAMS, North American Menopause Society, tele ###-###-####, email ____@____.com website: menopause.org

Good luck!

Hi H.,
I had a complete hyster. 8 years ago. I wore the patch for awhile, before getting scared about the breast cancer warnings. My breasts hurt so bad, I cut the patch in half and then dropped it completely. I have to agree with another mom who recommended the Menopause Balance Complex by Shaklee- many women have tried other products and this one works great and is a safe and pure herbal blend. All drugs have side effects, but it is so easy for the doc to write a prescription, they don't think about other solutions. Also, eat lots of soy- this protects you from breast cancer. Shaklee makes a great Energizing Soy Protein drink. The soy is non-GMO and processed differently than other soy products. Let me know if I can help you.
Best Wishes,
M.

Hi H. ~
I also had a total hyst. I don't know what vellia is...I take Premarin. I still have some night sweats, but not as bad as right after surgery and before the premarin. I do know that there are natural "remedies" for menopaus, but not sure myself what they are. You wouldn't use the patch or pill (birth control pill is what I assume you mean)...so you wouldn't have the risk of breast ca. As an OB nurse, the doctors I work with chimed in before my surgery as to whether or not to remove my ovaries...I have always had a fear of ovarian ca, so went ahead with the total hyst. The risks of taking something like premarin is more along cardiac issues, usually later in life. There isn't much cardiac history in my family so I'm not too worried about it. If you want, I can get you in touch with my chiropractor....he offered to tell me about the more natural remedies when I had my surgery. There are also the "bio identical" hormones that are supposed to be more like your natural hormones, but they're pretty controversial, and out of about 25 doctors that I work with, there's only 1 that prescribes them
good luck! I can totally relate!

I am 2 years post hyst and I had similar issues last Fall even though I kept my ovaries. I ended up on a system of natural vitamins & supplements from a place called womentowomen.com. It seems to be working and I feel & look better now that I did at 30 (I just turned 40). It is a little pricey. It depends on what they recommend for your system. For example, it was around $85 month the first few months, once my symptoms were under control, it went down to about $60. For me it has been worth it based on how good I feel. Good luck to you. It takes a lot longer than you think to recover from the hysterectomy. Once you are recovered, you will find that you are so much better, you didn't know how bad you felt before it.

It is very wise of you to be cautious of what to put into your body. HRT is synthetic and our bodies know that, which causes side affects and the risk of cancer. I take Menopause Balance Complex which has black cohosh, flaxseed oil and several other ingredients to help with sleeping, hot flashes and mood swings. It has really helped me.
