Possible Pregnancy - Mount Laurel,NJ

So here's the deal... Me and my bf had unprotected sex on my supposed ovulation day. I took tests as soon as I could and they came back negative... I then began to bleed five days before I was supposed to start, which led me to believe I wasn't pregnant. But it was extremely light and ended after four days. Not normal for me! I read where this could be decidual bleeding so took another test and again negative. What are the chances of me being pregnant?? Any advice and or similar experiences would be GREAT to hear!

To clear some things up, we did the deed on the 17th of July. I was expecting my next period on the 2nd so I took one of the tests that claim to be accurate up to six days before your missed period, so I took it on the 26th. Which honesty I believe was too early! I then began to bleed EXTREMELY lightly on the 27th. By this I mean hardly anything at all, it was only showing up when I wiped and then it would be either dark brown or watery pinkish, so I though at the time I was experiencing implantation bleeding. The next day (28th) it got heavier but not to the point that a pad was nessesary (I never filled a panty liner) and the only time it would really "flow" was when I was urinating. This was definitely strange for me, I have heavy cycles that flood the first day and last around seven days. The fourth day of this cycle (the 30th) was just dark brown spotting, I only had to use one panty liner the whole day then it dissappeared. So I took another test the following day (the first) thinking it would be accurate and it was negative again, so I'm open to any advice or opinions from anyone! Thanks so much to everyone who has replied already, I appreciate it!

What can I do next?

Hi. My situation was kinda similar. I had had unprotected sex and it was close to my ovulation day. I didn't think much of it though and didn't take a test. A few weeks later i bled lightly for about 4 days (I was already a week late). This flow was not normal for me but it was enough for me to think it was my period. The next month i missed my period and that's when i finally took a test and it was positive. A doctors visit confirmed i was 9 weeks pregnant and she told me that the flow was probably implementation of the egg. I would say either wait to take another test or go see a doctor. Hope this helps.

I hadn't even missed my period yet but had my doubts because I just had this feeling-I can't explain it but I have been pregnant before so????? Anyways I was only technically three weeks pregnant when I found out and the test came out positive for sure. Then at 5 weeks I miscarried. However, I think each person's body is different and at that each pregnancy is different. My SIL had to end up getting a blood test to confirm hers because every single time she took a HPT is came back as negative. BUT I also had a cousin who had a blood test which showed she hadn't even ovulated and they told her she wasn't pregnant ( she was on clomid to get preggo) then a few weeks later she had this feeling and just stopped to get a HPT and it turned up positive. Talk about a confused look on her face because the blood test are supposed to be very accurate-not in her case. I think you should either go get a blood test or just wait another week or so and re-test again. Sometimes some women are just different and it takes it awhile for it to pick up however my experience has been that it picks it up-even at three weeks conception! I even ended up having a miscarriage and that will happen alot-most women are unaware they even had a miscarriage because it just so happens that it comes around the time of their period. In my case had I NOT taken the pregnancy test at three weeks and waited it out-I would have started to bleed thinking I was just a little late with my period. The only reason I knew I was pregnant was because I just had this weird feeling combined with the fact that I am very in tune with my body I think for the most part so I knew"something" was up.

My thought is that it would be extremely rare for you to be pregnant! Implantation bleeding is more like spotting, so if you had any continuous bleeding I would highly doubt a pregnancy. I must also say that those pregnancy tests are very sensitive, so I fully believe that the hormones would have been there to detect a pregnancy if you had one. If you are really having difficulty with the unknown, please make an appointment with your doctor for a blood test. I really, really think you are not prego!

You may have been experiencing implantation bleeding. I had it with my last pregnancy. Wait until you are late, and then test again.

I would say that is sounds like you had your period early? Another thing is that the egg could have been implanting so you could have had, recidual bleeding. I would say that if you do not have enough hormones in your blood the test will come up negative. when I got pregnant with my son it showed negative then positive five days later. wait for another week, take the test and if it is negative then I would say you are not pregnant. Good luck

I am a little confused. You said you took a test as soon as you could, which is at most a day or two before your expected period(not really reliable until after you missed your period), but then say you got your period 5 days early, so you would not have even been able to take a test yet at that point. So when did you first test? while you were bleeding? Or after it was done? Because after it was done, you say, was still a day before you were expecting it. Your expected ovulation day is 14 days before your period is due. so if you expected your period on the 1st of July you would have ovulated around the 18th of June give or take a day. And you would not reliably be able to test until July 2nd or later depending on your body.
So depending on when you actually ovulated would tell more about if you could be pregnant. when was the first day of your last period? How many days is your average cycle? And what were you expecting your period? With that info, we could probably guesstimate when you ovulated and more reliably give you a guess as to whether you could be pregnant or not. Tests are not always accurate depending on your body, and some people require blood tests while others can get accurate results well before their expected period.

Call your OB and ask to have a blood test for pregnancy drawn for when you would normally have your period.

Try to relax and just wait a little longer. The more you worry about, stress over and think about missing your period & the possibility of being pregnant may actually prevent you from getting it altogether... which will just make you worry more.
Everything will work out :)
Good luck - and remember... relax!!
