Positive Pregnancy Test

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN get a false positive on a pregnancy test. It's extremely rare, but it can happen. I don't mean to dash your hopes or anything, just wanted to say that it is possible. I would wait a day or two and test again. Your hormones double, or something close to it, every day. The line should be even darker tomorrow. Good luck!

You are pregnant trust me. I had this with my daughter and I was 10 days late. I took the test and the one line was a very faint line. Congratulations!!!

I'd see my doctor. Because when I became pregnant with my last child. I had taken a pregnancy test and it was the faint blue positive and positive dark blue as well. I took 3 home tests and 2 said positive, one said it was negative. I went in to be tested (for the ease of my fiance's mind)...cuz he didn't believe me. I had it done at the hospital and it was a positive. Good Luck & Congrats!

We just had this conversation at work last week. A guy I work with said his wife took a test twice & both came back with a faint line in the positive. She took a digital one too (positive again). His wife called her dr. & they said it's positive no matter how dark or light the line is. Congratulations!

Your hormones double everyday. Test again tomorrow but I am pretty sure you are. If you wait to go to the doctor for blood tests you will still have to wait. Make an appointment but test again tomorrow. The line will be darker the next day (maybe not by much) if you are pregnant. Or take one of the digital if you are concerned. It will tell you for sure if you are (without you having to guess if the line is dark enough). OH and test in the AM the line will be dark then. :) Congrats!!

All the pregnacy test pamphlets that I've ever read say that the test is positive regardless of how faint or dark the lines.

If I were you, I would go ahead and spend the money on a digital pregnancy test. No questions there. Just a clear Yes or No pops up. Good luck!

I had a faint line too. I was told it didn't matter how strong the line was as long as it was there. I'd either try another test, which I did just to reassure myself, or make that doctor appointment!

Do you know where you are in your cycle? Are you late? If so, how many days late are you? Did you have sex prior to ovulation? These are all questions you should also be considering.

If you timed intercourse around ovulation and you are late with your period PLUS you have a positive pregnancy test, then it's possible you are pregnant. Wait a few days to a week and take another one to see if you get the same results (you probably will).

The first few tests might have been negative because you did not have enough hcg to register on the test. When one becomes pregnant, the hcg levels increase dramatically each day.

At any rate, the best way to put your mind at ease is to get a blood test from your doctor. Good luck to you!

It probably is a good sign that you are pregnant!! The tests are usually right and the color of the lines doesn't really matter as long as it is there. Your first tests may have indicated that you took the tests too soon. Your pregnancy hormones probably just weren't strong enough for the test to pick up on it.
I would definatly call the doctor and ask the nurse if she wants you to come in and have some blood work done to be positive.

Yes! You are probably pregnant. If there is a line, even light in color, which is visible within the time window, you are most likely pregnant. Do not read the test after 10 minutes - a shadow of where the test strip is located tends to appear faintly after a while. (I've waited a couple of hours to read mine and thought it looked positive, when it was not.)

You cannot get a false positive. Even if the 2nd line is light, you are pregnant. Congratulations Mommy!!

I bet it is positive. I had a faint line. I think that just means it is really early in the pregnancy. That is what happened to me. They say to wait a few days (like a week) and then test again but if you don't want to wait that long then you could just make an appointment with your doctor. Or if you want to take a test again, wait a couple of days and then take it with the first mornings urine when it is most concentrated. Good Luck and Congrats!!

A positive is a positive. However, my OB has told me that the home pregnancy tests are usually more accurate than even the doctor's office tests. I had a positive hpt, but at the OB office, the urine test was negative. They will do a blood test to see for sure if that happens. Your hcg levels will double and triple if it's a viable pregnancy.
