Portable DVD Player for Toddler? What Brand?

we have two of them, they are definitely lifesavers for when we go out to restaurants. one of them is samsung and the other is coby. the samsung is sleek and thin, the coby is bulkier, but its still decent. we bought it as a backup. i think my husband just bought them online at amazon or maybe best buy.

The only toddler friendly ones I've seen are the Video Now players. They are easy for the toddlers to use. My daughter, who is now 2 1/2 has been using my son's since she was 18 months old. The downside is that they don't play regular dvds. You have to buy the ones specially made for it.

I bought a regular portable dvd player when my son was 18 months and it saved us on a plane once when we were stuck on the tarmak for 4 1/2 hrs! Our row became toddler central, as we watched Elmo, Dora, Blue's Clues and had lots of snacks...:)

Hello! My son had the Video now. He probably dropped it over 100 times. It did break, but it took alot from him. Your daughter probably isn't as rough as my son either.lol

If you have a laptop with a dvd player, then you wouldn't need to buy anything. If you feel comfortable traveling with it.

I used mine on our 11 hour drive last year. I also used it last spring on an airplane ride, about 4 hours. I think my battery was good for about 3 1/2 hours, but I'm sure they are all different. It also fit in the basket under the stroller through the airport.

A few years ago, we had a cheaper one from walmart and it froze up during play in the first day of use... they don't sell the brand there anymore, from the looks of it.. Later, I ended up getting myself a used laptop in Crys. lake and it worked out for us to use it as a dvd player as well.

I hope you find something that works for you. It definitely helped on the plane. We also took our own headphones, so we didn't bother others with it playing.

We have a Mintek with a 8.5" screen. It's a lifesaver!! It comes with 2 headphones, if they will wear them and has a great picture. We use it in the car as well on long trips. I paid a little more but it was worth it. Have fun.
