This is going to sound real dumb but I can't remember the name of the place, but it is on Indian Rocks Beach, just over the Walsingham Bridge. Big white hotel on the left. There is a Brewmasters Restuarant in there. There is another restuarant-Green Aguana ( I think it's called). They run the pool. They only ask that you buy two drinks (sodas count)and you can use the pool all day. They have a nice pool and an area for kids-very very shallow water-like ankle deep. Water fountain for kids to play in. It's a lot of fun. It has been years since we went,so check it out in casethings have changed. Hope this helps.

Highland Rec is part of the Largo Rec Dept and it is FANTASTIC! It has slides and trees that rain and all sorts of fun things. Call the Largo Rec Dept and check it out! Have fun!

J.,

There is a fun pool off of Belcher it is in Morningside subdivision. I don't know where you are coming from but if you go down East Bay to Belcher (go left if you are heading toward 19 and go right if you are going toward the beach) take that past Belleair and a couple lights up on the right is the Subdivision and there is a sign that says Morningside recreational center. Turn right into the subdivision and go straight you can't miss it on the left hand side.

Good luck call me if you need better direction's ###-###-####

Hi J.,

We go to the YMCA on Central Avenue in St Pete. Its $60 a month for a family membership which includes the gym and a childcare room. During the "family swim" times (usually a couple hours a day on the weekends and evenings during the week) they have a water slide and a mushroom turned on. They also have a beach type walk in area so your little one can go as deep or shallow as desired. They are also indoors which prevents sunburn and most rain outs. I've heard good things about the new playarea at the Northshore pool in downtown St Pete. I'm not sure what the hours are but that's more pay as you go.

I think Morningside Aquatic kids area/pool is the very best. It is very safe and kid friendly, completely fenced in with a dedicated lifeguard for the kid area and a small pool area with a 2' and 3' ends. It has several slides, spraying things and kiddie stuff. It's awesome. Highland is great but it has alot of bigger kids racing through the small kid areas and the water areas aren't completely seperated....it leads into deeper water.

You should pick up a Largo and a Clearwater Parks and Rec book outlining all the pools....even view online.

I should also add that Morningside is open all day, from noon till 8:20 on weekdays and noon till 4:50 on weekends....you pay only ONCE to get in and stay as long as you like...as compared to Highland where it is only open it 2 hr time blocks, then closes and you have to pay again to re-enter. Also - Morniingside allows you to bring in food/drink (as opposed to Highland and others) and has lots of covered shaded tables, even part of the kid pool is covered and shady.
