Poo on My Couch! :(

moms i have an offwhite tweed type of couch, how would you get poo out of it!?! my son is 99.9% potty trained, the only thing he can't seem to grasp is that when you pee, it's okay to get down and get dressed, when you POO, wait for mommy to help you wipe. we had two poo smears on the toilet, somehow (i don't want to know how) a huge stain on his sock, and on the couch. regardless, i wiped the couch with a mild cleaner (that i hope doesn't bleach it out but i was so horrified i didn't really care too much at the time) and it seems mostly gone. the cleaner i used was a lysol wipe, which is also antibacterial. i am somewhat worried about the stain, or whether the cleaner will leave a mark, but also, is this sufficient cleaning for poo? i mean the spot is saturated. so i hope it's good enough - most of the brown is gone. BLEH! any thoughts or ideas???

What can I do next?

I doubt that a disinfecting wipe will do the job completely. I second the idea about dish soap and a soft brush.

There's nothing like a good old toothbrush & dish soap mixed with water don't pour it on the couch just dip the toothbrush into the cup & use some elbow grease. It should come out clean with no marks as for the smell if any I would pour baking soda on the spot let air dry then vacuum

Poo can be just to much fun some times.
I shop with a company that produces over 400 non toxic products that are safe for your home, health and the environment.
I live in Edgerton Ks.
If you would like more info on these products ,( no bleach) let me know.
This company even pays me to shop there and to refer customers.
If you would like to try this awesome product i would gladly let you.
Having 4 kids myself i understand how difficult it can be to keep the poo intact. lol
Let me know if we can help.

Thanks K.

try vinegar and baking soda- it can get red stains out of fabric

I would second the posting from Keith. check out www.melaleuca.com Also, there is a product called oxo-brite (organic for oxy clean) that works wonders without bleaching. I usually order it online, but it can be found at Wal-mart and some drug stores.

I have BEEN there, girl. I have had poo adventure after poo adventure lately and I think I can now safely add poo-removal expert to my resume. Nature's Miracle is what we used.

I have a blog called www.themommyhood.com which is mostly tips and solutions for busy moms, but also the occasional poop story. I think the poo posts are all under the Life is Messy catergory, but a direct link to how I got it out of my couch is posted here: http://themommyhood.wordpress.com/2009/11/12/mommy-mommy-...

Maybe it will make you laugh. When it comes to the poo on the couch it's laugh or cry. Or both. Good luck to you.

i use sol-u-mel. lol. it is from melaleuca and it is amazing. it takes the pen marks out of our sofa and has taken hot sauce out of our cream colored burber carpet. i am right over in shawnee, so let me know if you want to try a little. i dont have any problems with giving you a little spray bottle to help spray your couch! lol.
