Polyhydramnios and a Vaginal Delivery?

Hi all,
Just curious how many ladies that have had this during their pregnancies were able to deliver vaginally?
I've just learned that I have it, and it appears to be idiopathic. I'm really hoping to avoid a c-section. I'm an avid fitness person, and really don't want to deal with the extended recovery.
So I'm just curious. This is my second pregnancy. First was a normal vaginal delivery with no complications.
Thanks!

What can I do next?

I had this. My doctor had me induced....between this and my daughter being larger, he induced me 9 days early. My understanding is that the biggest issue is the cord prolapsing if your water breaks on it's own, because of the sudden gush of fluid. He was more cautious when he broke my water. And I could definitely tell that I had more fluid this time around than my first pregnancy. They did have me "prep" for a c-section before I came to the hospital with a medicated wash, but they swore it was just an extra precaution. It made me a little nervous, but I had an uncomplicated vaginal birth...on the second push we were done. :)

I had Polyhydramnios with my first pregnancy and my doctors never mentioned the need for a c-section. I was induced at 37 weeks and the doctor was very cautious when he broke my water because of the concern over cord prolapse. I ended up having a c-section but not until I had tried to vaginally deliver my son who was over 9Lbs. I did not have polyhydramnios with my second son and attempted a VBAC but still had to have a c-section. My second son was 8lbs 14oz so I don't think the polyhydramnios really impacted the first delivery.

There is no reason that you would have to have a c-section from just the poly alone. You will probably be induced to lessen the chance of cord prolapse and although induction CAN lead to an increase risk of c-section, this is your second baby and I think you have a very good chance of your induction running smoothly, especially since you have already had a vaginal birth that went fine. I had poly with my 3rd child, was induced at 38 weeks. I was never even told that c-section was a possibility or a thought in my dr's mind. I was on pitocin for about 10 hours and it wasn't doing anything (not even causing pain, only dilated to a 2), then my doctor broke my water and my daughter was in my arms in less than an hour. I was so mad that he didn't break it sooner! lol Also, just so you know, your water may regulate itself back to normal levels before you have your baby. When they did my u/s just before I was admitted to the hospital my levels had fallen into the normal range. Good luck to you and congrats!!
