How long a period of visitation is? What kind of visitation first of all? Are you talking about parental vistation rights?

You need to go to the courts and get the visitation set up through the states attorney generals office.
I have mine set up with the state of Texas... and his visits are the 1st,3rd,5th weekends and every thursday from 6-8pm... but I have to say - he has never made his visits...
Keep a details log book of when his visits are and how long... if he isnt there with a reasonable amount of time of the pick up - say he is suppose to be there at 6pm on thursday and isnt there by 630.... you do not have to wait around..... however, if he calls and lets you kow he is running late - to a degree you have to be flexible.
If you fear for hte safety of the child.... get proof....
If you fear he is going to leave with the child and you wont see her again - make sure you have primary custody - and he has non-custodial ..... then you have grounds to stand on... otherwise it is his right as a parent to have possession of hte child.....
good luck

As I remember it from my divorce proceedings, a visitation period is one visit. From your post, it looks like you have about 8 months before the order changes. From the information you provided, it looks like you have a non-standard visitation agreement. This is likely due to her medical condition and/or age.
Call the attorney that helped you or the state attorney general...they usually have someone who can answer your questions. Good luck.

Hi S.... I'm not an attorney. I used to work as a Deputy Clerk in a court. Normally if visitation has been set by a court of law, the visitation schedule and the length of specified visitation time and dates are set and written out by that particular court order. If there is no formal court order, then you may have to work it out between yourself and your former spouse.
Hope this helps and God bless,
A.

I would think that is something that is determined ahead of time and either agreed on by both parties or handed down by a judge. I don't know from experience, but that is how I believe it works. I hope you can get a more concrete answer from someone who has dealt with this personally. Also, your question is a little vague, so more info might help clarify.

Can you be more specific? What kind of period are you referring to? Your 'monthly' period or what kind of visitation, like parental visitation for children?

Totally depends on the circumsatances. You sound paniced so, is it a good situation for the child to be in and do you trust the other party. The court is the only way to protect your rights as a parent. You need to establish full custody and go from there with a parenting plan. Good Luck

Do you have a divorce decree or a court directed visitation? If not, get one. There is no visitation if it is not court mandated. On the flip side, if the other party is listed as a parent or legal guardian, then I beleive they can take the child whenever.

Not sure if I understand the question? Most of your responses thought you meant parental visitation. I read it and thought you meant how long should your period last? If you are refering to your menstrual cycle generally 5-7 days. But can vary greatly due to any circumstances.Don't know if that was your question, But wish you luck!
