Most likely you have a yeast infection. This is very common after a bout of antibiotics. There are over-the-counter meds for this situation. I've been through this many times. Hope this works for you.

you may have a UTI (urinary tract infection) or maybe a yeast infection. either is quite common among women and nothing to be embarassed about. but you do need to see the doctor for this. you will need medication for either infection, so you really need to see the doctor to get the right diagnosis and right medication.

Hey J....sounds like a yeast infection, which are easy to get when you take antibiotics, they mess with the "good" stuff down there and allow the not so good to thrive, anyway, there are a lot of over the counter creams, like monistat, that you use 1 day, up to 7 days, your choice, you just need to read on the box. I have used the 3 day and the one day, and have good results. If your concerned, or if this is your first, make an appointment, they will run a screen, and give you a prescription. Also, eating yougurt helps. Good luck

Likely its a yeast infection -- very common w/ antibiotics. There are OTC creams but they don't always work. There is a prescription pill that works well -- but you need to go to dr. Some people have home remedies like applying yogurt to affected area. Oh the joys of being a woman. PS you can actually spread the yeast to your partner -- don't want to go there.

Hi J.. My name is sprinkells about the antibiotics, they are known to give you yeast infections, so my advice to you would be to drink plenty of cranberry juice and eat lots of yogurt. Its very common for antibiotics to give you a yeast infection, have had the problem before. Just drink that and eat plenty of yogurt and you will be ok...

Sounds like a yeast infection. Monistat 3day over the counter should do the trick, but check with your doctor first (disclaimer).

I would try the an over the counter anti yeast med first to see if that clears up the problem. You may as others have said have a bladder infection too. That requires a trip to the doctor. And yes it's a good idea whenever you start an antibiotic that you use a probiotic otc from the start. Drinking crandberry juice from the start can help you avoid bladder infections. Once you've got a good one you need a doctor. Bottom line, the aibiotic killed all the natural biotics in that area and let the yeast grow. It may have also changed the acidity of your urine, which allows bacteria to grow in your bladder. An oct product called uristat can help with the discomfor of the bladder right away. But, it only masks the symptoms, it does not cure a bladder infection. Use it to get relief before you go to the Doctor.

It could very well be a yeast infection (as a result of the anitbiotics). There is no need to be embarassed at the doctors office. Your health comes first. Seek prof. advice. Good luck.

Don't be embarassed to go to Dr's! They see this stuff all the time. But whenever I take antibiotics, I take acodopholis (in vitamin section). It keeps the flora of the vagina balanced so it you don't get yeast infection- which by the way- is very common when a woman takes antibiotics....

You might have a bladder infection because it is burning, although I can bet you 100 bucks you have a yeast infection caused from the antibiotic you been taking, if the antibiotic is any form of penicilin you can bet it gave you a yeast infection, itching is a tell tell sign , you can go see your doctor call them, many women do after taking a bout of biotics, its not uncommon, or you can go get some monostat at the local drug store, its kinda yucky to use the doctor can give you a pill to use instead of the over the counter cream, up to you ,ask the pharmacy.. its not embarrashing its a way of life for us ladies,

J.,
You have a yeast infection. It's very very common with females to gt one after or while receiving antibiotics. Call oyur OB/GYN and tell them whats going on. If they have never treated you for such they will require to to come in just to verify and then its a simple Rx for treatment. You should feel instant relief after 24 hours of the treatment

antibiotics mess with the bacteria's in your body..you should take Kyo-Dophilus probiotic supplement ..also eat yogurt...do you have a Wholefoods near you or a health food market? Go in there and go to the vitamin dept and tell them you've been taking antibiotics and you need to get something to balance out your bacterias..the person working will know exactly what you need. You don't have an STD ...you've got a yeast infection b/c the antibiotics wiped out your bacterias..i wish doc's would tell people to take supplements while taking anti b's..i had to take them in june and was taking the ky-dophilus.. you need to replace the healthy bacterias back into your body.
Also for kids there's baby jarro dophilus ...if you have a little one it's good to put 1/4 of a teaspoon in some milk for them once in awhile ..i used to do that for my son when he was an infant and wasn't feeling well..really helped his tummy.

Sounds like a yeast infection. Alot of women get them when taking antibiotics. I would definately have a doc check it out. The best thing for it if it is that is probiotics found in yogurt. Daily cranberry juice or pills can prevent them. They have a probiotic called Jarro-dophillus.

Sounds like a yeast infection. I know that antiboitics can cause them too. Just call your doctor and tell them to call in a prescription for a yeast infection. The seven day treatment from the doctor is MUCH better than anything you can buy. If they ask you, tell them you already tried the over the counter stuff. They'll try to make you use that stuff first, and it's just a waste of time, long painful horrible time. I've only had one once, and it was terrible. It won't just go away. And don't forget you can transfer it to your husband, so you'll have to use some of the cream on him too to avoid getting it again. Good luck!

ps. If the cream doesn't work, they have a pill too, but they usually hold that back too. I think the doctors are a little sadistic.

Never be embarrassed to go to the docs or just call and see if someone can take a message and ask the doctor. That's what they are there for! It may just be a yeast infection--treated with 3 day over the counter med. Antibiotics often change the normal flora and it's a perfect place for yeast to grow. Very normal;!!! If you do treat and it does not go away, make sure to make an appt. to be checked. Good luck!!

Taking antibiotics can sometimes bring on a yeast infection (sounds like that's what it COULD BE). Try monistat (OTC) or something like that. A doctor would not think anything of this. You don't have to be embarrassed...most women get this! Hope this helps you.
