Playing with Privates - When Willl He Outgrow This?

Too funny. I'm going through the same thing with my 2 year old. I've actually seen him sticking out while on the potty. It scared me to death so I ran to my husband and told him (as though he could do something about it) and he just laughed at the situation. I guess us moms sometimes over analyze some things that's just natural with boys. You would think I would be used to it by now with 4 boys, but this is the first one that I'm going through with this. I hope and pray he does grow out of it (smile). Just know you're not alone and it appears from the numerous responses, neither am I.

well, most grown men still do it, so my answer would have to be "never". when he gets old enough to understand, though, he needs to learn when it is not okay to do so. Good luck.

Hi! All little boys seem to do something to that effect. Be glad he doesn't do what my best friends son who is now 8 has always done. He lays on the floor on his stomach and well.........you can guess the rest. I guess it must be a male thing. lol

Hey B., as a mother of a 5 year old, mine still hasn't out grown the touching. It's mellowed to holding it before he has to tee and that's about it! LOL I'm not sure when they'll grow out of it, but if you look at our husbands (those crazy men) some of them STILL haven't out grown it!!!LOL,LOL
Hang in there, boys are a mystery.

This is always embarrasing and my nephew just LOVED to show his privates until he was nearly 4 years old. He would pull his pants down and just pee-pee anytime outside. At 1st he would get a lot of laughs about it and we think he liked this reaction so he continued to do it. After a year of this, we all realized he was taking this a bit too far and we stopped laughing about it and got more stearn with him. He also got older and realized that it wasn't alright to show your privates. You may have a year or so of this behavior and then everyone will forget about it. Don't stress over it. I was told early on with our children to carefully pick your battles and don't sweat the little things.
