I am moving to south king county (will be in Auburn to start off with, but not sure where we will find a home yet) and I am really, really hoping to find and get involved in an active playgroup right away. My daughter (3) loves the playgroup we attend here in Boise and I want to be able to provide an outlet for her to meet little friends right away. I also have a 3 month old baby boy, but the socialization of course will just be for me and my daughter initally. I will be home during the day and open to driving a bit, just not super far. We are super friendly people and love to try new things and meet new people. Thanks for any advice!

Hi B.!
I live in Auburn, and stay home with my kids, Alyssa (3) and Cole (1) during weekdays. We generally get together for playdates with friends, but don't go to any structured playgroups. Alyssa has recently started a gymnastics class, too. If you'd like to get together with us, let me know!

Check out Cafemom too. They are a group of moms, you can find one for your area, then introduce yourself and ask if anyone is up for a playdate.
Also check out Mops.org i think and you should be able to find a group near your new place.

Good luck, i live in Tacoma and am a part of both of these.

Hi! I live in Auburn and have an almost 7mos old son. I would HIGHLY recommend you join the Meet Up Group "Lakeland Parents Meetup". They aren't all from the community (neighborhood) of Lakeland and there are LOTS of opportunity for kids of all ages. We enjoy going to the park activities, library, etc. It is wonderful!

Check with Green River Community College and Highline Community College. They both have (or used to have) Co-op preschools. It is a great way to meet parents and child in your area and children of your child's age.

Check meetup.com. That's how we found our playgroups!
