The JCC has play time in their indoor gym on Wednesdays and Fridays. I believe it starts at 12 and ends at 3:30. Moms bring snacks and let the kids run around. It costs $3.50.

Hi J.,
Try your local library as they usually offer story time or toddler time where you can bring your son and he can interact with other kids his age. The programs at the library are usually free. Also, check with your park district as they offer weekly activities for tots as well for a small fee. Good luck!

Hi!

My name is Nicole. I am 32 and have 6.5 month old twins. We just moved to New Lenox in June. I was on bedrest since April and quite frankly... so stir crazy in this house most of the time!!! I find playgroups are a little tough for me... just because my kids are so young but would still be interested. I'd also like to tell you all about some groups...

MOPS - www.mops.org

Stroller Strides - Laura is the woman in charge of SW (ex. Orland Mall)

MOMS International - www.momsclub.org - Cindy Blau is the President of New Lenox chapter. If you'd like more information please let me know. I just joined this group a couple months back. It's pretty good.

PACES - http://www.pacesmoms.com/ - this group seems pretty nice too. I plan on attending a general meeting in February. If you'd like more info, just let me know.

Take care!
Nicole

I am C., 32 with a 3 year old boy. I live in Worth and am desperately loooking for a play group too. It seems all the kids in my neighborhood are too old for him to play with. If you get something together and its not to far from me I would be totally up for it.

Hi J.....I would most definitely be interested in doing some sort of play group. I have a 15 month old boy who is just now starting to get interested in playing with toys and other children. Let me know if you get other moms who may be interested.

I too would like to find some other kids and Mom's in my area for a playgroup. We sound like we are in fairly similar situations. I am 30, married and work from home 3 days a week. I have a 22 month old daughter and we are expecting our second child June 5th. I'm in New Lenox so I don't know if our locations would be convienant for a structured play group but an occassional play date sounds doable! Maybe we can put something together.

I also am interested in getting my 3-year-old into playdates and since he will be starting daycare soon I feel that he needs to learn to interact more with other kids. I have looked into taking him to our local children's museum. Have you recieved any good suggestions?

What southwest suburbs are you in. I get together with 4 other moms with 2 year old once a week. It is nice to visits with the moms and the kids have a lot of fun.

Hello J.,

I am a 30 years old with 2 children, living in Oak Lawn.
I have a almost 2 year old son and a 7 month old daughter. I am also a stay-at-home mom. Maybe we can try something out if we are not that far away from each other. I would really like to get my son to be with other children. He goes to the park district once a week, but I would like something more peronal.
