I am looking for a play group for my son who is 3 and daughter who is 10 months. Neither have much contact with other children at this time. I'm not sure if the one's posted are for mom's only or if dad's can join also.

What can I do next?

I also recommend meetup.com. There are several groups to choose from. Most of the groups will have children in the same age range as yours. I am so glad that I joined the play groups on there. My daughter and I have had a lot of fun going to meetups.

Welcome, B.. My understanding is that men are certainly welcome on this site. I hope you find a playgroup for your kids and will keep you in mind for those that I am a part of in the future.

B., I commend you for your commitment to your children. I belong to several playgroups through meetup.com. I will say that most of us are moms but there is definitely a variety of activities and plenty of room for daddys.

If you don't find a meet up group that suits you there is always the option to start one yourself.

Hi B.,

Sounds like a tough time for you and your family. I commend your concern for your kiddos. I'm not sure what area you are in but I belong to several great playgroups in Rockwall. E-mail me if you are interested in things in this area - I would be happy to hook you up! Best of luck!

B.,
Garland Parks and Rec has some great and inexpensive classes your 3 y/o would enjoy. You can find the list online. It is a fantastic way to meet people w/ the same age group kiddos.

Welcome to the board!

Hi B.,

You may want to check out www.meetup.com. They have local meetup groups for every thing you could think of. I found them when I was going through my divorce (DFW Divorce SupportGroup) and it was wonderful to talk to other people in the same boat.

Hi B., welcome to the board. There are a few "support" groups in the Dallas area strictly for dads/stay at home dads. Here are links to 2 that I could find. They may be your best place to look for playgroups where you can talk with other dads in the same situation you are in.
At Home Dads of Greater Dallas (part of Dad to Dad a national organization): http://www.slowlane.com/groups/ahddallas/index.htm

DFW MidCities Dads (more for those in the mid cities area)

Hope this helps.

Hi B.!
There are several malls that have indoor playgrounds. You may also want to check out some local churches for Mother day out programs. They meet 2-3 week and they have activities for kids.
