Place for Mom's Birthday Dinner
I'm looking for a good family friendly place to have my birthday dinner. I would like to stay in the Allen, Mckinney, Plano, Frisco area.
Thanks!
So What Happened?™
Thank you for all your quick responses! We'll be checking out some of these new restaurants soon. For my birthday, we took Aleta's advice and went to Taste of Home in Wylie. Yes, it was worth the short drive. I loved the old house being turned into a restaurant. The food was great and the employees were all very friendly. I'm looking forward to returning.
Thank you everyone!

I wish you could travel all the way to Wylie! We have a great little restaurant called Taste of Home (nothing to do with the magazine of the same name!).
It is only a few months old, located in a remodeled vintage home (abt 100 years old) on the corner of Ballard Ave and Maple St (I think!)(big picture: Hwy 78 and 544). Great desserts!
Keep it in mind for the future when you're willing to go a little farther!
I worked there for a short time, but realized that I had too much to do at home right now!

La Hacienda in Frisco or Patrizio's in Plano are some of our favorites- they both have rooms/ spaces for larger parties is needed. La Hacienda even lets you call ahead & get on the waiting list which is nice. (Patrizio's will too if you have a big group)

A great place in Frisco is Buca Di Beppo! It is family style Italian. BIG portions that everyone can share. The staff is awesome there, also.

Bucca di Beppo by Stonebriar Mall is a fun family place. Great Italian food served family style - you won't leave hungry. You can sign up on their website to get special deals and coupons.

Good morning, K.,
A restaurant that we enjoy for celebrations is Macaroni Grill in Plano on 75 just before Legacy. Their food is very good and they serve LARGE portions, so there's lots for sharing with other family members.
They cover their tables with plain butcher paper and give you crayons, so the kids (or adults) can doodle on the tablecloth while you're waiting for your meal.
If it is a special occasion (birthday, anniversary, etc.) the waiters will come and sing at your table.
Have fun!

Cheesecake Factory is awesome...the food is good and the cheesecake is wonderful. They just opened one up in the new Watters Crossing shopping center in Allen off of 75 and Bethany. Also, Dave and Busters (Stonebriar) has a fun atmosphere...I don't remember the food being all that great but it was definitely a fun time. If you have anyone under 18 call ahead and I find out what time their game aread turns to adult only so no one is excluded.

We love Babe's Chicken in Frisco! Family style dinner where each person picks a meat and then you are served corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, salad and rolls along with it. They will bring as much of each veggie as you want them to.
