My son has an inchy eye since this morning and has little red veins across his eye.He has a little pimple on his left eye.I mostly worried he might have pink eye in his right eye.He had 8 hours of good sleep so it is not lack of sleep.

What can I do next?

The "pimple" may be a sty. Itchy eyes makes me think the redness is allergy related.

Sounds more like allergies. Have you tried a moisturizing eye drops?

sounds like a stye, in which case, try and warm compress on it, that has helped me in the past.. to flush out any of the goo that may be in it once it begins to soften , you can use boric acid..sounds harsh, but it's one of the ingredients in eye solution.. you can get it at a pharmacy.. follow instructions and if it's not a stye and happens to pink eye, the stuff works really well for that too.. also, if it is pink eye, don't forget to change his pillow case every night until it clears and don't reuse washcloths..

good luck

Give him a few warm showers and wash his face with some soap. Make sure to pay his eye dry with an individual hand towel or wash cloth so if it is pink eye it won't be spread, give him (at most) half a dose of Benadryl. Then if it clears up you know it was an allergy or something that got in it, if it doesn't clear up it might be pink eye.

You can buy over the counter anti conjunctivitis eye drops but unsually they are behind the pharmacy counter and not on the shelf.

So sorry! When it rains, it pours!! You do need to get him to the eye doctor right away. There is bacterial and viral conjunctivitis and it's HARD to tell the difference between them. One is extremely contagious (bacterial) and one isn't (viral). You need an eye doctor to determine which it is. If it's bacterial, you have LOTS of cleaning to do to prevent your entire family from catching it.

Let us know how it goes, mom.
