My daughter had them when she was 5. We took her to a doctor & he gave a simple prescription they went away after about a week. No one else in the family had to be treated or contacted them. She got them from swimming in a river. This was just a freshwater river and we never went back there again.

Go to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist they sell an over the counter remedy that worked for my daughter when she was about nine years old - going barefoot in infected mud or soil that is infected is usually how kids contract them----- keep shoes on and always wash their hands when playing etc.. But if you want to get something prescription maybe the nurse at your pediatric office and just get you a prescription over the phone...........L.

A friend of mine's daughter had pin worms when she was a couple months older than your daughter. She called the local pharmacy and they have something behind the counter that they can give. If I recall correctly, everyone in the family has to take it too. Call the closest 24 hour pharmacy and they will be able to help you. Good Luck!

There is an over the counter pin worm medication at the drug store. Garlic is also a remedy. We did both for our daughter and they worked.

It's been years and years and years (my kids are teens now) but they both had pin worms. Please take care of it quickly as one of them was skin and bones and then when we got rid of the worms she got chunky and kind of struggled with her weight after that. There should be something in the pharmacy you can purchase over the counter; however, what worked best for my girls was via a prescription from the pediatrician.
Good luck!

Do you have pets (cats) that come in and out? Usually these are carried by cats and as they sit around on furniture, etc they leave the eggs and worms. I do not suggest a home remedy, but proper medication from your pediatrician or your local health dept for treatment. Take the animal to a vet or a pet supply store (Petco, Petsmart) that would offer treatment for it.
