Pimples from Pacifier?

My six month old son is addicted to his pacifier, lol. However he is getting little pimples on his upper lip below his nose. I am guessing they are from the binky. Does anyone elses baby have/get these? And is there anything i can do to prevent them? They always look so painful..=(

What can I do next?

I, too, have a son that was a binky-addict and he would get the same rash you are talking about. I imagine they get it from the wet binky being up against their skin all the time. I would say, just try to gently dry the area as often as possible and maybe try to limit binky time. (That may be a tall order, though!) :)

My 2 yr old had this.Same area, same thing, they are called baby acne. they told me there wasnt anything it would go away and it did. i know they look painful i would sometimes run a little vasaline just so the skin wouldnt dry out. It is completlly normal.

yes, it is an irritation from the saliva around his lip. My daughter used to get something similar. I would put vaseline or neosporin on it. Vaseline basically causes a barrier to moisture, so it didn't effect her as much. Neosporin helps to heal it - doesn't do much to 'saliva proof' his lip, though...

hope this helps and don't worry - it's not permanent ;)

We've used Burts Bee lotion on all the kids whenever they have a dry spot or rash. Their skin clears up alot quicker than anything else I've ever tried. Works like a charm.

it sounds like the skin is just chapped. you might try to keep a thin layer of vaseline on it through the winter.

My 2-year old still uses his paci at night. He sometimes get a rash or chapped skin b/c he is sort of a drooler! When he gets a break-out I make sure the area is completely dry then put Aquafor on it. It usually heals in about a day.
