Pillow for Toddler

If he's sleeping (and not complaining in the morning), I wouldn't worry about it!

When my oldest daughter was two, we bought her a pillow and flannel pillow case from One Step Ahead.

She loved that pillow and took it every time she went to grandma's house. She is now five and too big for it, but my 15 month old toddler loves this pillow now. It was a GREAT investment and the pillow case is really soft now.

My kids all got used to the standard sized pillow-they shunned the little ones and ended up sleeping "off" of them as well, so little really didn't make a difference. The one thing to look for is to make sure the standard pillow is "flat" enough-by that I mean not making your little one's neck bend up too much. Blessings~

My son is older now, but has gone through several stages of losing his pillow in the middle of the night. When he was really restless he'd end up completely turned around in bed so we tried a pillow on both ends! We also tried putting the pillow under the fitted sheet, and when he had a cold we would put a folded-up blanket under the mattress to raise his head up some. I sewed some smaller pillows with fabric he chose, but he mostly uses a thin regular pillow(even flatter after being washed a lot).

We started our son off with one of the decoration one's from our bed at a little over 1 year. It didn't have any extra stuff on it but was about 10 by 10 inches or so. Then our sitter gave him a football shaped pillow last Easter when he was a little over 2 so he used that for a long time. Now he is actually sleeping on a regular pillow in his full sized bed just recently.

As someone also suggested a travel pillow would work great.

There is a kids boutique in Round Rock called Sweet Love and Sugar Britches that sells Toddler pillows and lots of cute cases. Also, a website called Mr. Bobbles Blankets has them ans lots of great cases and blankets as well (reasonably priced).

I had the same problem. If u get the cheapest pillow that walmart carries it works better. Although it looks fluffy it goes way down when thay lay on it, so it molds to them better.

When my son was old enough we gave him his first pillow, it was a travel size pillow. For his 2nd Birthday we upgraded to a full size pillow. We just picked one out that was semi-flat and he sleeps on it every nite. We figured a big fluffy one might be too much on his little neck. HTH

When my daughter switched to a toddler bed we started off with no pillow. After a couple months she expressed interest in stealing my pillow so I bought her a standard one, and its pretty flat, it works perfectly.

At Whole Foods I got a "travel pillow" that is the perfect size for my two year old!

Would you consider not using a pillow at all? My siblings and I grew up without a pillow until we were around 18 or so. My mother did some reading up on it and wat a bit of a health nut and she learned that it could contribute to the curvature of your spine so we just slept without pillows.
My son sleeps without a pillow too, although now and then he might use one of his bears as a pillow.
Give it a try for a few nights and see how your child reacts.

My kids always end up turned the other direction, without blankets, and once even on the floor. I wouldn't worry about it. If he's sleeping through the night and happy, let it go! Just be sure to take pictures to giggle over.

I gave up on pillows a long time ago. My kids don't even ask for them anymore. They don't need one either - it's actually better for their back if they don't use one unless they sleep on their side. But, you can buy some craft foam and cut it to a size you like and sew a case on it.
