Every time I see a question about girls approaching puberty, there are so many recommendations for the American Girl book. But does anyone know of a book similar to that for boys? Because that would be awesomely helpful! In a few short years, anyway.

Thanks!

Here is the book we bought:

The Boy's Body Book: Everything You Need to Know for Growing Up YOU (Boys World Books) [Paperback]
Kelli Dunham (Author), Steven Bjorkman (Illustrator)

We got it on Amazon after hearing positive things about it. Now, to be completely honest, we haven't delved into it quite yet, but expect we will need to soon (our son is 5.5 yrs old).

Take a look at this book:

What's Going on Down There?: Answers to Questions Boys Find Hard to Ask

If I were you, I'd read it first to make sure you feel he's old enough for the book. I gave it my kids when they were in 6th grade because that was the year they were learning sex ed.

We also bought The Boy's Body Book. Our son is 9, and I'm going to talk to him about puberty and sex this summer. We've talked some already, but we'll go more in depth this summer (ongoing talks, you know). Then I'll give him the book to have as a reference. He's a big reader, and I figure it will be comforting to him to have a reference book as his body goes through changes. He already knows he can come to me, too.
