Picture Place Recommendation

The place I used to get my boys' pictures taken has closed and I'm looking for some recommendations on where to take them now. I have had horrible experiences at Portrait Innovations and will not go back there. I want good pictures that you don't have to wait months or pay an arm and a leg for. Any ideas ladies? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I go to an individual in Lee's Summit. She runs her studio out of her house--I always love her pictures and I never feel rushed or forced to do anything. Her website is: www.abundantmonents.com. I love being the only people present to get pictures taken because it is not chaotic like Portrait Innovations. Also, your pictures don't look like everyone else's, which is great! She is worth the drive for me from Olathe :)

I agree with Target. They do a pretty good job and they usually have great coupons! You can find 40% or 50% of coupons if you get on their email list. Sometimes it's hit or miss with the photographers, but even the "miss" photographers get some good shots! Target takes about a week to get your photos but you can view them on line.

Also the Picture People in OP Mall are really great. I find they are a bit more expensive, but all their shots turn out beautifully! They have coupons too and if you join their Picture Club (or whatever it's called) you can get away with some cheap photos. You get your pictures before you leave and can order more off line if you'd like.

I hate Portrait innovations as well.... I think they are just horrible... never listen to what kind of pictures I want until the very end when my kidsa are tired and not smiling anymore. I found a great photographer in Olathe. Portraits Today Studios. Their prices are very similar and very affordable even for just a small package. They work VERY well with children and have a great eye. Some of the best pictures we have from them is just the photograher take pics as my kids move around in the space. Not always "posed' they always show the personality of my family which is what I want in a picture... to remember how they "were" :) Good luck.

I usually use the portrait studio at JC Penny (2 or 3 weeks to get prints) or the Studio 101 at the Great Mall (an hour to get prints). Studio 101 is a little more expensive. Both are good with getting little kids to smile. Studio 101 has more props.

Hi! I hate the picture places in the mall or box stores! I recently found a wonderful professional photographer that is reasonable. He lives in OP and has a studio near downtown. I had him do my kids in March and I got wonderful pictures. He even gives you the cd of photos for your own use. Check him out... Kevin Hengler at 49th St Photo. www.49thstphoto.com

I used to go to Portrait Innovations too but I have found that I like JC Penney better. They are really good with my two daughters and I don't feel rushed like I did at Portrait Innovations. I also like The Picture People at Oak Park Mall but they can get a little more pricey.
