I am thinking that when I was in labor I was more able to be taken over by spirits. I mean kids are close to "the light" so one building body parts in M. and exiting M. must have made M. a sort of receptacle to some spirit world, right?

I say this because I must have become posessed with an old lady spirit at this time, because never before meeting my daughter did i ever utter the phrase:
Goodness Gracious!
But now I say it all of the time. It's quite embarassing. I'm in public with other adults and something goes wrong and I say Goodness Gracious. I'm assuming while Emmy was being created she somehow passed on part of an old lady spirit to M.. You have no idea how embarassing this phrase is. you don't want to be the 29 year old at the bar yelling goodness gracious when someone gets out of hand. try it in public, you'll soon start to feel self conscious of your old ladyness too. You can't even slip a curse in there like goodness F'in gracious. you still sound old. Although, I've been told I cant curse properly so maybe that's the issue? I really need to take a class on the proper annunciation, tone, and usage of curse words. Like intro to Karate for the mouth

Do you have a word or phrase you are embarassed that you say?
ohhh i forgot and Boo-Boo--since when did boo-boo become a word? i feel like a 2 year old asking my 5 year old if she got a boo-boo? seriously she doesnt even call it that

I mean, really? Who spills their chardonnay at a wine tasting and says "Woopsie Doodles"? This mom. UGH.
"Doggone it!" And my Grammy used to get on us for "fiddle farting around" or J. say "fiddle fart" which I have been known to say. But when I'm feeling particularly feisty I will substitute f*c* for fart, as in "quit fiddle f*c*ing around!"
Dare ya... Say it... Fiddle fart! It's fun to say!!
I thought this was going to go somewhere else, but thanks to my husband I cannot say "Box" or "Taco" in front of him and it be a mature conversation.

i say "oh pickles" makes my kids giggle everytime. and i have been know to pop off with "bless their hearts"

Yes, I say 'indeed!' a lot. "It is hot out today, isn't it." "Indeed!" Ugggg....
Drop something, make a mistake, forget to do something?? I say " Oh sugar & fish" :-( don't ask!!!!
Not really but I do say a lot of strange stuff. :)

I always tease my hubby for saying 'bless your heart.'
My grandma is the only person I have EVER heard say it other than him. lol.
Of course, he teases M. for saying 'Bitty bit' when I only want a little... He says I leave off 'Itty'.... lol.
LOL, J. M, "goodness gracious" was one of the phrases my "Mrs. Beasley" doll would say when I was little.
I do not get embarrassed by these phrases or words but they are things I didn't see myself saying until I was much older or ever:

Get off my lawn! equipped with a shaking fist and everything at the kids and I actually have no lawn of my own I live in an apt.
Whoops, mommy needs to xyz - not while talking to my children but rather my husband or other adults. I should really stop doing that as I'm sure others find it annoying
Not at all embarrassed by these but never, before children, thought I'd say "son of a biscuit" or "oh, for the love of Pete"... it is particularly amusing when I hear one of the six-year-olds muttering "for the love of Pete" under his breath ;)
I love Goodness Gracious and all those old fashioned terms. It makes communication so much more refined. I particularly like 'Gentleman's Region'', for an, ahem, gentleman's region.
One of my staff members on the other hand announces everyday at lunch that he's so hungry he could eat either 'a shitty-assed monkey through a cane chair,' or 'the crutch out of a low-flying duck'.
Hmmm.
I say "Oh fiddle faddle."
I also say "Oh fiddle sticks."
I also find myself saying things like "get that ding dang toy out of my kitchen, if I find it laying around again..." Ding dang, who says that? I guess it's better than saying "Damn toy" and I wouldn't be upset if my kids repeated it.
"That's a hoot!" Sheesh! What am I, 90?
I'm 29 and I do say alot of 'old lady' words lol. Goodness gracious is also one of them. I tend to say 'anywho' alot, and 'Oh my'

I say "goodness sakes" a lot to my boys and I also say "bird dog it" when I want them to grab something for M.. "bird dog it" , really?! I blame my husband.
I'm 45, so I am an old lady! lol
I say, "oh my my" all the time. I also say, "quick like a fox!" to my kids to make them hurry because my grandpa said that all the time.
And my kids are 16, 12 and 9 and I call their boo-boo's "owies", that doesn't seem any better. lol
