Phil & Ted's Double Advice

Does anyone own the Phil & Ted's double inline stroller and love/hate it? I'm seriously considering waiting for the new P&T Vibe (very similar to the Sport) but I'd love some personal opinions before I commit. Specifically, do you ever have a problem with it scraping on curbs since it's so low, or anything like that? Is the "cocoon" useful outside of the stroller? Thanks in advance for the help!

What can I do next?

A., I have the Phil and Ted's Sport with Doubles Kit and cacoon. I absolutely love it. It does not seem that heavy, and the seat is not a problem to install and uninstall.
The new Vibe will retail for $729.00 where the sport retails for $490.00. That's alot more money to pay for one less pound and a seat that will fold down with the stoller.
Both my husband and I feel that the sport is the best choice when you have a toddler and an infant.
If you are interested in the cacoon, I will sell mine for $30.00 (it retails for $60.00) it is in excellent condition. It is red.
(I live in Chicago as well).

Have it. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Head and shoulders above any other stroller I've used, and I've used a lot. I live in the city so I need the big wheels for unplowed sidewalks and smoother riding, but the narrowness for stores. I seriously have no complaintes about this stroller. The bag may scrape a little on curbs, but I haven't had a problem with the second seat. The second seat is not very useful unattached from the stroller.

Dear A., to obtain an unbiased view you could purchase a copy of the Baby Bargains book from any good book store. They rate Phil & Ted an overall A- in the book. You might also like to look at the Valco - they have a good write up and graded an A.

We have an e3 buggy - is that the same one you're talking about? I really like it. So far we've only used it for our son but I am really looking forward to it when our next one is born in May. I think it's really easy to maneuver, to fold and unfold, and what I especially like is how narrow it is - even compared to another single stroller. I never have any problems getting in and out of a store, but I see other moms pushing side by side strollers and it looks like they're pushing a tank. I think the convertible idea is so neat. I give this stroller an A +!

Hi...love mine!!!! I would do it all over again, I just love all the different configurations... it was so easy and helpful. I bought it three years ago so there were no covers over the rear tires. It fortunately was not a problem with my little one, but I could see how little fingers would want to touch the tires. Now they come with the tires covered. I so recomend it!!!!!!

We have the e3 with double seat (it is 1 or 2 generations ago), and I love it. Super easy to navigate up and down curbs, etc, and in places like the bookstore. I've only used it as a single or in two-toddler mode, never in the flat "baby" mode. I wish the sport had been out when were were shopping. The ability to recline the backseat and adjust the handle would have been nice.

Hi,
We bought a PT double stroller a couple years ago right before my son was born. It's the one with the convertible seat/infant carrier and the seat that goes either down low or on top. We LOVE it - my daughter is 3 1/2 and son will be 2 in April and we still use it. The kids and we have done fine with it - easy to maneuver; very compact/easy to transport. My son didn't like the infant part, but we just attached the infant car carrier and it was great. Good luck!
