Phantom Baby Kicks??

So for the past few days, I've been feeling "phantom baby kicks" in the evening when I am sitting around watching TV. My youngest is 2 1/2, and I am SOOOOOO totally done having kids. I took a pregnancy test today, and it was negative in seconds. Has anyone else experienced this before? I have no interest in having more kids so it's not a psychological yearning for more children - don't even care about holding any one else's baby. Any ideas?

Oh, and I definitely don't think it's gas. I have plenty of that, but never had this sensation until a couple days ago (except when I was pregnant).

Nope, no C-section or anything similar.

From doing a little googling, I have found that it's common. Some women have phantom pregnancies with many more symptoms than just "kicks". Guess I'm lucky that that's all I'm feeling.

What can I do next?

I have felt this to.. But unlike other posts, I have never had a c section. I felt them for several months and started wondering if I was pregnant. I have an IUD(mirena) for birth control and after you have that for awhile you usually dont have a regular period. So this got me thinking maybe I was. But they stopped and no I was not pregnant, but I swear it felt just the same as when I was pregnant. I thought maybe it was just digestion, or gas. I even caught myself putting my hand on my belly when it was happening. really weird. MIne seems to have lasted longer than mosts so maybe I will now have to do a little research. Glad I am not the only one with a mystery "kicker" in my belly.

My oldest is 16 years old (c section baby) and I still get those weird feelings! A few years ago I had them a lot for some reason and you could see my stomach spasming and jumping like something was kicking around in there. It went away on its own, but I have always had those spasms every now and then ever since I had my two boys. Very odd!

Yeah I get those too. I had twins almost 8 years ago and have felt them off and on throughout the years and I obviously wasn't pregnant nor was it gas. I'm fully aware of what an oncoming fart feels like-lol or some gas for that matter! This is a totally different feeling.....very similiar or familiar as to when I was pregnant.

On one of those shows about women being pregnant and not knowing. Apparently, when you get so far along the pregnancy test comes back negative.

Take care

Did you have any C-sections? I have phantom baby kicks that seem to be related to having C-Sections.

That is hillarious!
I feel them all the time now that you mention it but I never really thought about it. It never crossed my mind that maybe other people feel it too or anything........
It has made me think that maybe I was pregnant too but by the time you feel a baby kick, you've been pregnant 3-4 months so it's like no way!
Now I'm going to have to do a google search! ha!

Probably gas. I have had that before. I wouldn't worry about it. Even if you were in the early stages of pregnancy you wouldn't be having movement yet.

I have those too!!!! Like you, I am totally done with babies! No yearning here, but every time I feel it, I instantly think of my babies moving Inside. Clearly it's not what it feels like, never thought to wonder about it, though. Now I am curious how many others feel this too!

Total TMI, but I am pregnant, 13 weeks, and whenever I think its the baby moving, its always followed by a fart. Bummer. But before I was pregnant with this one (my 3rd) I felt them too. I think it was just muscle twitches and gas too.

Weird. Me too! I never really thought much about it though. I wonder if it is gas or some kind of muscle spasms. If you do figure it out, let us know!

I have those too... it's been really noticeable the last few months, when I was hoping I was pregnant. Seems to be between gas moving and spasms. From reading prior posts, I did have a c-section too.

I don't think it's gas. I have the same exact thing, it's funny that it is only since I had my daughter. I't feels muscular to me, I wonder if it's something to do with the stretched muscles or something.

I just had the exact same sensations a couple weeks ago. Googled it and everything. Everyone kept saying it was gas, and it clearly was not. It was just some weird spasms & ironically, it was while I was PMSing...So I was thinking it might be hormone related :) If it wasn't that I guess it could have been the good 'ol bowels working, but still awfully weird.

Wishing you all the best

Forgot to say it stopped just as abruptly as it started..I'd probably say it was about 2-3 days later :)

I have had slight muscle contractions since having kids that felt exactly like those early kicks, in the same areas, when I definitely wasn't pregnant. I even thought I was feeling my third baby moving a little too early and wondered if I was farther along than I am, but it was the same thing. :)

It was just a weird sensation for me since it would be out of nowhere and I finally just figured it was muscles being odd.

I've had that too. I agree that I think it was probably muscle type "spasms" because I was not pregnant at the time and I KNEW I was not..... But it felt so real!

it's gas
It's stuff moving around down there and since you have been pregnant before , you are more aware of everything down there that includes gas and other things.

I have those too! I had a C-section 7.5 years ago and I sometime feel those kicks and I'm like whoa! But no pregnancies since. It is weird.
