Pest-y Problems

Help! we have ants! Shouldn't be surprising since we have sticky fingered, crumb dropping toddlers...

Unfortunately, most pest control places on the internet have poor reviews.

Can anyone in the Dallas area recommend an exterminator? I don't need a "plan." I just need a nice guy (or girl) to come out and get rid of the ants for a decent price. All suggestions welcome!

oh - and we have tried less invasive methods (coffee grounds in the sills, etc - I think its time for the big guns...)

What can I do next?

Those black sugar ants are a HUGE problem in this area. A fantastic solution that you can do yourself is Aspartame-you know, Equal or another name, Nutrasweet. Sprinkle it in the corners in the rooms you are having trouble in, preferably on a window sill. Wet it just a little and you'll see that in a few days the problem will be taken care of. The way it works is that it is a neurotoxin and when brought back to the mound it creates confusion and then their whole ecosystem is brought to a screeching halt, killing them. Nutrasweet may be found in over 6000 products from soda to even supplements, but it's hardly truly safe for human or even ant consumption! Try it!

I bought a few differant products at Home Depot. Worked fine. There were some little stakes i put into the ground for outside ant beds and for inside - Terro gel. It cost $3.75. I know thats scary with kids, but I put a few little drops on the paper provided in key areas after everyone went to sleep and picked them up the next day before everyone got up. I put some and left it under the kitchen sink and in high cabinets. I have not had ants in any of those areas again and I havent retreated since last year.

I second Rid All, but I'm a bit biased. Ask for Patrick. He's my brother in law. :)
