Personalized Books?

Does anyone know of any local or on-line vendors that sell personalized books for children? I have seen the Disney offers in magazines where you can put your child's name into a story, and what I'm looking for is similar but less commercial. We have one from our first son that is the story of his birth, basically some key info inserted into a template. But the lady from whom we got it no longer does the books. I also know the Mall of America had a kiosk that sold them, but a look at their web site seems to indicate that's not there anymore either. If anyone knows where I can find these books that would be great. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Dodge Nature Preschool is doing a fundraiser right now with a couple great personalized books. I can't put my hands on the specifics right now but if you call there on Monday they could help you. The one I am thinking about getting is an animal alphabet book (beautifully illustrated) where animals spell out your child's name (i.e. a jaguar might bring the J or a frog might bring the F) and each page has some verse to it. There is also a personalized fairy tale book.

Andrea mentioned the website for the ones I was talking about. If you go to the www.iseeme.com website and enter shipping code FSJ2675A you will get free shipping! Anyone is welcome to use this code (you will also help contribute to the Dodge Nature Preschool Scholarship Fund with your purchase.

iseeme.com has a line of books called "My Very Own Name". I had one made for my first daughter about 6 years ago and it is still one of her favorite books to read. It's about a group of different animals coming together to celebrate your child while spelling out his/her name. There has also been a new book added called "My Very Own Fairy Tale" which is geared towards girls with same name concept behind it. They would make great gifts too! ~ Andrea

Yeah I was just also emailed an offer from shutterfly.com...and pricey they are, $35 for the 8x8 Dora and Diego personalized books BUT they do have an offer for free shipping over $50 so if you add a few prints on to your order (or make up your Chirstmas cards as they have 20% off on those this week too) you'd get free shipping and also I have been using shutterfly for about 4 years now (I get all my prints done there, have made a couple of photobooks and calendars and do my Christmas cards thru them as well) and I have ALWAYS been impressed with the quality, always. So with that in mind I would recommend shutterfly despite the high price for the book b.c of their great quality. You can always shop around though thru other online photo sites, try ofoto.com and snapfish.com.

I use www.shutterfly.com to print photographs and they have sent me some offers for personalized books. I think they're a bit pricey, but they use a photo of your child in the book. I think they also have the option of making your own story just using their templates.
