Hello Mama's,

I am wondering is there anyone else that watch Real Time with Bill Maher? I do not agree with everything that is said on the show, esp concerning God but I love how the forum is politcally informative on a comic level.

What say you......

So What Happened?

Great Points Tad to b amused! I would vote for him as well because of Transparency....

I have to check out Colbert & the other guy, for some reason I can not take Joy from the view seriously so I have never really given her show a chance. I do not see some of Bill comments as angry but full of passion about all the foolishness that is irelevent that is goiing on in a time when we are in a need of change and not game playing....

To MOMOF4:If you think about it most of our "elected Offiicials should be comedians rather than "elected officials" oh but wait having affairs on tax payers time and dime and stealing money is not that funny!

To MOMof4: this is not to go back and forth with you but I have to address your comments Real Time with Bill Maher has had every political guest on the show that I can think of from govenors, authors, bloggers, shux this morning he had the EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson on the show and she informed the heck out of me this morning about how this bill is in jeopardy! and did it with a few jokes....Have you ever watched the show it is politcally informative.......

My plan is to check out the Colbert report. Thanks moms for taking the time to answer.

I absolutely love him, have for years. (Yeah, I used to watch Politically Incorrect.) I am cool with his atheist stance, but sometimes he seems to dig his heels in too far, and that approach costs him a little credibility with me. Otherwise, I think that he is an excellent comedic writer and has excellent comedic writers on his team. I look forward to his wit and cleverness each week.

I love him...minus his religious bashing.

Even his religious stuff I stomach...because he was raised one way and went out searching for himself in what he believes.

I give him credit for not being a sheep in wolves clothing. He never says out right to people they are WRONG because their views are different.

If I could elect my own Public officials they would include Bill Maher. ..He is honest to a fault...and that is what we are missing now days.

So put me under the LOVE him Side for the Poll.

I watch. His personality is annoying and sarcastic, but there's definately a place for sarcasm when making fun of politics! I don't think you have to choose between Colbert, Stewart, or Maher. They're all funny and have thier own comedic way of discussing politice. Maher has a longer format so he gets to get a little more indepth on subjects and he gets to do his editorial at the end. He also has a week to prepare.

I love watching Bill Maher on his TV show. His stand-up comedy, not so much. I think he's high when he does his hour long stand-up comedy, and the stuff he says about religion just gets on my nerves.

However, his TV show is great. He is way too far left for me, but I love that he holds both parties' feet to the fire. He does NOT engage in sound bytes and rhetoric. He brings out uncomfortable truths and points out the politicians' lies and bull. And for the people who are uninformed and just accept remarks that are full of holes, he will let them have it.

I think he's great!

Bill Maher is funny - he takes politics to the comedic level. He doesn't side with one particular party like others...

He's okay.

I like him. He's funny in a "state the obvious" kinda way, which matches my sense of humor. He is pretty good at representing both sides despite his own opinion.

I used to like him but then after a time, he became too intense..by that I mean, he isn't really funny and seems to have a big chip on his shoulder... same with that lady named Joy on the view. I don't get it, she is suppose to be a comedienne but she too isn't funny..

Love Bill and we watch him every week. He's one of the few people left on TV that has both sides on to discuss issues. He listens, lets the guests talk and doesn't interrupt or try to talk over them (unlike O'Reilly). He's also not afraid to slam both sides. His comments on religion ... well, some hit the mark and others I find a little offensive. But that's ok because I do realize that we all have opinions and beliefs. My husband and I saw him live once and he was hilarious. OH, and he strikes me as quite intelligent, a huge plus in my book!

I am on the Right, and very religious, but I find him to be hilarious. Yes, of course he can get carried away and offensive, but I don't take it personally. I also like that he is willing to talk to pretty much ANYONE. I don't agree with 80% of his politics, but I enjoy the diverse panels he has, and his "New Rules" segment :)

Can't stand him!!

Edited: I think it is sad that people can say they love a man that has said totally outrageous and despicable things about women. But, I guess it's okay if those women are conservatives. If he said the same things about Mrs. Obama I doubt there would be so much "love" for the man.

Love Bill. One of my favorite shows. I love especially that he is not ashamed to take a stance on his religious (or lack of) beliefs. I particularly enjoyed Religulous. I am also agnostic in the South, so I find that refreshing.

LOVE Bill Maher (and Stephen Colbert and John Stewart). I don't care if someone is atheist or what religion they are. I also love that he gives it to both sides and has great guest panelists who are very informative. He's excellent!

He's funny, but he does say stuff that I don't agree with, and I have trouble with any political person who refuses to see the other side and thinks that everything his/her party does is right. But he is a comic and he is suppose to be funny, and sometimes he is. I really like John Stewart of The Daily Show, it's on right before Colbert. What I like about Stewart is he will make fun of both parties and call both parties out on their BS.

Ever since Bill stated that child birth and breastfeeding wasn't special - any mammal could do it - he lost ALL of my respect I had for him as a man and political pundit.
