Pen on Leather
Hello everyone! My 2 year old son got a hold of a pen and "colored" on our tan leather couch. We have tried soap and water and all purpose cleaner and can't get it off. I don't know what else to try that won't harm the leather. Can anyone help me get the pen out of the leather??

I know that Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work on ultra suede, and I have used them to get pen off of my own tan leather sofa. It may leave a faint discoloration, but I can't even find the place where the pen used to be on my couch, so the discoloration must not have been too bad.

I bought a leather cleaner for a leather coat I had in High School. Whenever I get something on my leather couch that doesn't come off with the regular cleaners, I've used it and it comes right off. I've tried it with pen too, works like a charm!

Oddly enough, try a little bit of milk. This usually takes ink right out.

i have heard using rubbing alcohol (applied with q-tip) will work, but have not tried myself. also, i have removed pen from several other surfaces with one of those magic eraser things (mr. clean is the brand name... i think).
I'd do a test spot with either before you commit to it though, just to make sure it doesn't bleach it out, etc.
good luck

We also have tan leather couches and with 2 kids we have had our share of pen marks on them. What has worked for us is alcohol. Just put some on a cotton ball and it rubs right off. You might want to try it on a hidden spot first, but we haven't had any problems with it discoloring. I hope this helps!

my daughter did that to my sister's light leather couch when she was little. I used aerosol hairspray and it worked for me.
