Pediatrician Requests in the Edina/Bloomington Area

Hello,

I am having my first baby in September and need help finding the right pediatrician. My OBGYN has recommended Metropolitan Pediatrics and Southdale Pediatrics. Does anyone have experience with either of these and/or could refer any other Docs in the area?

What can I do next?

We go to Southdale Pediatrics and see Dr. Neis-he is great. I would recommend him to anyone. He's very laid back, has his own young kids so he's in a position to relate, and takes his time with you, doesn't rush you out the door. We had picked out a different doctor but he was the one on rounds when we delivered and we switched to him because we liked him so much.

I am also having my first baby in September. I am a 2nd grade teacher, so I asked my student's parents who they recommended and the majority of them said Metro Peds. I have heard nothing but good things about them and 2 of the DR's have children at my school. When I told my DR this is where I decided to go, she said she takes her child there and loves it!

I take my daughter to Southdale Peds we see Dr. Jason Kooch as her primary. We have also seen a number of the other Drs for short notice appointments. I have really like everyone there and they are great with my daughter. I also like that they have on-site x-rays and lab. So I don't have to make multiple appointments and drive all over for things like that. Good luck and Congrats on your baby.

We've gone to Metro Peds since my daughter was born and they are awesome. You can get in on weekends if you need to and the nurse line is awesome so I would recommend them.

Hello. How are you? I don't have any experience with either of those clinics, but I can recommend Dr. Mary Beth Hanson at Park Nicollet Clinic on Hyland Greens Dr in Bloomington. It's on the corner of west 98th street & Normandale BLVD. She is absolutely wonderful with Austin (2.5 yrs old) and Natalie (6 wks old). She answers all my question honestly and returns my phone calls no matter what I happen to think up. Dr. Hanson came highly recommended to me from my aunt. I just love her!

Southdale Ped's is great. My family has been going to the Burnsville locations for almost 20 years. I went as a kid and now I take my three kids there. We even have the same doctor. Dr. Anderson is the best doctor. He diagnosed my brother with cancer at the very earlist stages he is now 19 years old and cancer free. He was 9 months when he was diagnosed. Southdale peds has 12 of the top 100 doctors (not just pediatricians) in Minnesota. I would take my kids any where else.

I take my 11 month-old to Park Nicollet Clinic in Bloomington. Dr. Kromarczuk is amazing! He takes so much time with us at every appt, and he is always supportive, not judgmental, when discussing our sleeping/eating struggles with our son. The nurses are also great, and we've never had to wait for more than 5 minutes, even when we went in without an appointment one day when my son hit his head.

I take my 15-month-old twin girls to Dr. Heezen at Park Nicollet in Bloomington. We all love her! She's always willing to answer questions. She doesn't pass any judgement on the parenting choices that we make. She returns my calls promptly (no matter how small the issue is). We've been SO happy with her.
