Pediatrician Needed near Eagan

The pediatrician my daughters have seen since birth is changing clinics. While we may decide to follow him to his new clinic (it's farther away from our house), we are also looking at other clinics in our area.

The qualities we are looking for in a pediatrician and clinic include:
1. someone who takes her/his time with our daughters
2. a clinic that has some weekend hours
3. someone who is progressive and proacts rather than reacts
4. a clinic that is friendly and remembers your name
5. a pediatrician who is constant (not just whoever happens to be available) and remembers who are you are your
child's history.

My daughters are both very healthy and like our current pediatrician. I like him too, but am wondering if there might be someone else out there who is here in Eagan.

Thank you for your time!

What can I do next?

We drive to Eagan from Mpls to see our pediatrician because we love her so much -- Dr. Janine Pingel at Fairview Eagan. We had a significant health issue when my son was 2 weeks old and Dr. Pingel came into the clinic on her day off and saw us unofficially. He ended up needing surgery and she was our advocate through the process, even calling us at home after we got home from the hospital to personally follow-up.

We use Dr. Carolyn Borow at the Eagan Allina clinic off Yankee Doodle and Lexington Avenue. Dr. Borow is amazing in her interaction with my children and the support she provides to me and my husband as parents. I would recommend her over anyone else that we have used for our kids.

We've had great luck with Aspen Medical Clinic. I don't there's an Eagan location but there are a Bloomington and Inver Grove Heights locations. Dr. Wanderman in Hopkins is who we see. The clinic always has nurses available for questions and they remember our names.

We take our daughter to Dr. Jim DuFort at Eagan Valley Pediatrics (Cedar & 142nd). We love him!!! He was listed in the annual "Top Doctors" issue of Mpls./St. Paul Magazine.

Pediatric and Young Adult Medicine in Eagan is great! We see Dr. Julie Saxton who is fabulous. All the doctors are on call during the day so if you have a sick child you can talk to them personally not to a nurse line. They will answer their cell phones during working hours and then there is an on-call doctor in the evening and night. Here is their website: http://www.pyam.com/

We go to Eagan Child and Family Care. I love Gretchen !! It is mostly nurse practioners but Dr. Ali is wonderful as well !! I highly recommend Gretchen, Lisa and Dr. Ali. We have been with them since my daughter was 3 and I wouldn't go to anyone else. They are open half day on Saturday, they also have a pager system so you leave a message and if no one returns your call within so much time then call back. I have had great response having done this several times! It is off of Pilot Knob and Diffley. I drive from Farmington to go there. My daughter has asthma and Gretchen is specialized in asthma as well as runs the annual asthma camp. It is a small clinic and they remember who you are. Good luck with whomever you choose!

We also see Gretchen at Eagan Child and Family. The staff is very friendly. We travel from WBL area to Eagan just to see her. The # is ###-###-#### Good luck.
