Hi M. -
We have a son who had a congenital cataract (diagnosed at 4 months) and we were sent to Dr George Beauchamp (Bo-shomp) in Grapevine, who was wonderful with us. However, after he consulted with our pediatrician, they decided to refer us to Children's Hospital to Dr David Weakley. He has been WONDERFUL for us and now has an office in north Plano as well, part of Children's network of medical offices. We are very happy with Dr Weakley as well. So, depending on your insurance or whatever, try either one of those guys - they come highly recommended! Both are pediatric ophthalmologists (instead of optometrists) meaning they can deal with the major issues of the eye and not just prescribing corrective lenses and stuff.

We also used Dr Beauchamp in Grapevine (recommended by our pedi as well) and he was great!! Super nice, great with my son who was only 1 when we started going there. He spent a lot of time in the room with him, doing tests and what not. He wasn't one of those look and leave Dr's.

Dr. George Beauchamp is a Pediatric Ophthalmolgist and is located in Grapevine in front of the Grapevine hospital. He came very highly recommended to me for my son. I later found out that a friend in my Sunday School class works for him part time and could not stop raving about him. I would recommened that you google him for more information. His website is http://www.popacas.com/phy3.htm

My daughter Jayden has had to have 4 eye surgeries since she was about 14 mths old. We use Dr. Everett Moody. We go to his Arlington office but he has several other offices in the DFW area. He has always been great with us, and every time she has had surgery he has made up a goody bag for her to try and help make her feel better about the situation. It's cut he puts in stickers, sun glasses, crayons, sun hats, even a stuffed animal (she is now 8 and still loves that frog he gave her). His Arlington office number is ###-###-####.
Good luck!
