Past My Due Date - HELP

I am 2 days past my due date and could possibly be pregnant for another 2 weeks. I am looking for ways of encouraging my soon to be son to come out. I tried caster oil it just gave me a stomach ache and false contractions. So I am looking for other alternatives - I really don't want to have sex so if you have other recommendations that would be appreciated..lol

What can I do next?

Walking helped me, although I went a few days before my due date. I climbed stairs and stayed as active as I could carrying a nearly nine pound baby. I also sat on a birthing ball (basically a big exercise ball) as that helps open up your hips and work the baby down into the birth canal. I had a pre-natal massage a few days before I went into labor and while I don't know if that helped the contractions start, it sure was wonderful to be massaged for an hour!

Just stay positive and relax. Your little boy will be here soon! Good luck with the new baby!

be as active as possible! walking, stretching, pregnancy workouts, lifting, not too much but more than the 5 pound limit. i had a glass of wine when i was 2 weeks over due, suggested by the doctor to relax, that night i went into labor. good luck

Remember your due date is just a guideline.

For my second I knew the date she was conceived, however, the due date was still calculated from my last cycle.

I've heard walking helps. Also, make sure you drink lots of water.

Congratulations and good luck.

yes, WALK WALK WALK....drink red raspberry leaf tea about 3 x's a day and take evening of primrose oil. I did all of this and had my baby 10 days early. If I didn't do this she would have been too big for me to deliver vagianally. search the web for exact dosages of evening of prim.oil capsules. Some say to insert the capsules vaginally at night...if you can do that it works better but i did it once and that was that. decided to just take orally.

good luck and relax....oh and this may sound crazy but go to a kids park and watch the other kids play and laugh etc. i've read that the baby hears it and likes it and wants to come. I know it sounds nuts but i did it...i was willing to try anything.

Hi R.,
Congratulations!!! When I was pregnant I went for a Mommy Massage and went into labor the next day. The woman doing the massage knew that I was in the safe zone and massaged the certain spots that are usually avoided in pregnant women. Not only was I super relaxed, but I swear that it worked. Also, I heard walking does the trick too. Good luck!

When I was pregnant and went for a massage- the masseuse avoided a certain spot on my ankles/heel area b/c she said it made labor come on. I asked my obgyn about it and she said it was possible. If it doesn't work, at least you'll get a nice massage!! Good luck!

Hi R.,
I was 9 days late with my son. And for a first time mom that's a LONG time! I'm not an expert, but what actually worked for me was a stretch that my chiropractor showed me. It was a stretch for my back, but it has been known to help start labor - which I didn't know at the time. Put a pillow on the floor. Put one knee on the pillow and the other foot flat on the floor (like you're proposing). Then lean forward but not so far as your heel comes off the ground. Do about 4 or 5 stretches on each knee. I think it was about two days after starting these stretches (2-3x a day) that I went into labor. Good luck and congratulations.
