Past My Due Date
I really dont know why im writing. I guess i just want someone to tell me that i am indeed going to have this child :) My due date was sunday. I am only four days over due but i really dont feel like there is any progress for about 4 weeks now. With my first daughter my water broke a week and a half before i was due. I guess im starting to feel the blues about not seeing this little one. on top of it i have a wicked cold. coughing, stuffy, etc.... I just wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions for relaxation or natural "induction" (please no castor oil... ) keep in mind i have a 17 month old who does not like to nap lol so relaxation has to come after 8 pm. thanks!
So What Happened?™
Well the very next morning I went into labor... which only lasted 3 hours!!! i guess when she was ready she was really ready!

Try deep squats and sex.
Dont' worry the same thing happened to me I was two weeks early with my first and my son was a week late. But it was the easiest delivery ever. And I recovered nicely also.

I know how you feel, my daughter was 3 weeks overdue and like you I was coming down with a terrible cold and no one knows how sick you can really feel from a cold until you can't take any medicine for it! You really just have to be patient but here's a suggestion, I am an avid exerciser and I have one of those aerobic balls that look like beach balls, a few days before Juliana was born I started sitting on it while I was watching TV and just bouncing on it, it seemed to stir her up and about 48 hours later my water broke(the very day the doctors were going to induce me). Good luck and congratulations to you.

Don't worry, your baby will eventually pop out. My middle son was so stubborn that it took him 3 weeks over my due date to finally take the hint that he needed to come out.
Good luck and congrats in advance

Been there! My daughter was 2 weeks overdue. I went into labor the day I was scheduled to be induced. I loved being pregnant but I just wanted to see my baby! I wish I could tell you how to help it along, but I don't know. I tried walking a lot and sex, but it didn't move anything along. She just wasn't ready to come out yet. I wish you lots of luck and I hope you feel better.

I feel for you! I was 23 when I had my daughter, she;s 17 months. I don't want to strees you out more but, I was almost two weeks over due with her. It was frustraing and in what I beleive to be the hottest August on record. I tried walking and begging my husband to have sex with me (one of my relatives swears by having sex to induce!). Nothing worked! But, once she came it was well worth the wait. Take the time now to spend with your first as I very soon will have to share your attention between both your children. Cherish every moment. I know everyone says that but, its so true.
Good Luck to you!

Well, I was like that with my third boy. First one came right on due date. Second one came early, because I had to start to bring on labor, placenta was not good. So for about 2 wks I was told by my nurse midwife (who I used with all three, natural child births) to stimulate my nipples. Not fun but get a little lotion and sit somewhere with the TV on in private. I also did this with my third because he was late, so in the shower I did this and talked and pleaded with him. And when all else fails, sex works, this is also not fun for you at least, but it does work. Good Luck!
