Party Favors for Baby Showes

Hi mommas,
I'm throwing a baby shower for my sister in law, and wanted some input on what I should get as favors. I don't want to give anything that will be collecting dust in. I want to give something useful. The last bridal shower I went to, they gave coasters that said "love" on it and I loved it and we actually use it at our house. Any idea will be great!!
Thanks...

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thanks everyone for your advices.... I really liked one of your ideas to give out candlesw/ a lil poem saying to light it when the baby is born, but my co-hostess wasnt too fond of it...so we came up with a great idea to bake cookies... then later when I went on mamasource(after the shower) I saw that one of you had given the same idea so thanks!!! As unique as I thought it was, I'm glad it was normal lol.

I just threw a shower for my sister, and I made boo boo bunnies for all the guests. It is easy to make this wash rag bunny, an ice cube can be held in the crevice in the body. The ice, rather the bunny, can then easily be held by a child or adult with a 'boo-boo'. These also make adorable decorations. I bought a large pack of white washcloths and some blue Rit dye, and dyed them all blue (for a boy) and used blue and brown ribbon... they were super cute!

They are local and they are so nice!

Here is what I did -
I went to Wal Mart bakery and bought large cinnamon rolls. I found this was cheaper than baking my own. I wrapped each one up in pink saran wrap with a bow and a note on cute paper tied to it that said - Thanks from our little "bun in the oven".

I threw my friend a baby shower in November. I was in your situation, what to give as party favors. I went on to Orientaltrading.com and ordered pencils with the baby's name engraved on them. They were a huge hit and plus for an order of 25 pencils with shipping it was less that seven dollars.

candles, I love getting them.

My girlfriend just threw a shower for me this past weekend and gave a small bouquet of flowers in little glass vases she got at Wal-Mart as favors. They were really unique - and wont collect dust!!

At my baby shower, my sister in law gave out favors that were consumable....they were adorable little lotions, nail files, soap, etc. I LOVED getting those as did my party guests!

I have a corporate gift giving business (but I don't only work for corporations). I can make up some great little cellophane wrapped gifts of sea salt scrubs, lotions, hand towels, etc if you'd like to go that route! I don't charge extra for the wrapping either and I can give you a deal if you're interested (or anyone else for that matter)!!

My business site is http://amychichester.myarbonne.com/

Let me know if you'd like to see some pics of some gifts I've put together in the past!
