Party Favors for 9Yr Old Boys
I am in need of some ideas for what to give as party favor gifts for the boys that will be attending my sons bd slumber party. Should I do anything at all? We are already planning roller skating and movie. Do they need to go home with something too? If so what? Everything I see for favor gift are for little toddlers.
What are your thoughts?

9 yo boys - I think you are OK with no "go - home" unless a little bit of candy in a bag that says "THANKS!" - think gross candy that looks like boogers or bugs - LOL! or maybe the big league chew (remember that bubble gum?? My 7 yo loves it!)
But I agree with you between the movie and the skating and the slumbering they are set:)

I wouldn't worry about party favors. You all can make cookies the night before and they can take some home in a ziplock bag. But if they are anything like my boys, the cookies will be gone too quickly!
Or you can make slime and the kids can help, each kid gets his own baggies of it... boys love it, even older ones. Goodness, I've been telling everyone about slime lately!

My son did laser tag and a movie night at our house. I bought each of the boys a Tron chapter book. We watched the movie tron in our "movie theatre". All the boys loved it and the parents did too! Good luck I am pretty easy going and vowed to never have a sleepover again! I had 8 boys! But... I am sure I will do it again since my son had such a great time! lol!

I'd do favors. But that's me. I love that kind of junk. With that said, considering they are skating, a sleepover, and probably getting food, the favors are probably not necessary.
If you do decide to do it, consider:
1. Marshmallow shooters (not the expensive gun-type, but ones made of plastic tubing they can make themselves) You can find them here:

or

2. Squirt guns
3. Paper plane craft kits
4. Marbles with directions on how to play
5. Small Action figures (superhero or Star Wars guys for instance)
6. puzzle books
7. comic books
8. cheap dvds (under $5)
9. Mini-science kits : see: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_18?url=search-al...
10. Hexbugs - see:http://www.amazon.com/Hexbug-Nano-Colors-May-Vary/dp/B002...

Ok not sure how much you want to spend.. or IF at that age, they need anything.. BUT if you don't mind sugar.. then you can purchase those red and white cardboard popcorn containers and put some "movie" type candy in them.. say flicks and or junior mints..etc... fill them with whatever you like. I tend to do a movie theme and in my case, I also include a movie gift ctf.. however, in your case, you are already paying.. so maybe just the candy. then I wrap sullivane wrap around them and put a bow.. you can purchase those containers these days at party stores and or craft stores..
good luck to you

I don't think they need party favors at that age. The boys don't care at all. If you want to make their moms happy, maybe you could take a photo of each kid with your son (or skating) at the roller rink, get them printed at one-hour photo (CVS is great) and send each kid (or their mom) hope with a pic. If one-hour photo won't work, maybe mail the photos in the thank you cards.
My daughter went to a slumber party once where they did this. For a party activity they actually decorated photo frames and she was sent home with the photo of her and the birthday girl in the frame she created. She still has it! I'm pretty sure a group of boys would not be into glittering up frames, but maybe the photo part could work for you.
