I think the crayons and coloring books are a great party favor. It's something the kids can use. It would also be fun to set up an arts and crafts table where kids can color in their books. Or they can decorate their own hats or door signs with fun stickers. My kids have gone to 3 parties with arts and craft tables and they loved it. Good Luck!

They have cookie monster photos or cut outs, when they play a game they go to the cookie monster and take a cookie off of him, ( make some paper cookies and tape it on him, write the price on the back, like you won a choc chip cookie, or a tootsie pop, or you own some bubbles, if they dont play games you can reward them for being good, playing nice ect..

Cookies from the Cookie Monster, little trash trucks from Oscar, some egg shape candy from Big Bird.
If your brave and other parents are OK with it, go get the kids their very own Dorothy the goldfish (super cheap at Petco). I've been to 2 parties with fish as a favor and the kids love it!
Walmart also sells inexpsenxive sesame street story books.

I think crayons and coloring books are great for that age!
You could do little Sesame Street character toys, but I think
the crayons and coloring books are a fab idea.
Happy party,

We did an Elmo themed b-day party for my daughter when she turned 3 & the kids loved the custom t-shirts that we screen printed for them. Many of the kids wore them until they had holes in them or got too small...some even handed them down to younger siblings when they were done with them. (sidenote...my husband & I have a screenprinting business so it was really conveninet for us to do this, but if you are interested in hearing more about this, just e-mail me back :)

Crayons and coloring books are great. Don't get too hung up on this stuff, really. Kids are happy to just get a little bag with fruit snacks and sidewalk chalk. You gave them a PARTY for goodness sake!
I stopped doing goody bags altogether at parties. Instead, we do some crafty activities at the party (easier when the kids get older). They make a bracelet, or paint a t-shirt and decorate a paper bag to use to collect pinata droppings. That is their take-home. I personally think that we parents are going a bit too far with birthday parties.

I think coloring books and crayons make great party favors. But something I've done before is get mini plastic buckets w/ the shovels and fill them up with bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and a few age appropriate knick-knacks. Perhaps sesame street fruit snacks, stickers, or noise maker. You can add a cute personalized tag that reads, "bucket of fun" or the name of the recipient. Use colorful paper, embellishments, and ribbon. Hope this helps!
