Part Time Work?? - McKinney,TX
Help! After going 'round and 'round with my husband about this, its been decided that i need to seek a part time job in the fall. I have three kids, all in elementary school, so that could work out. However! Hubby travels pretty often for work, with no set schedule, so regular nights and weekends are out. Any suggestions on where to look?? I have applied at the kids school, but that was a no go...

When my daughter started K (2000), Plano was short on substitutes. I was asked to apply to sub because I do have my degree and I have subbed ever since at the same school.
It would be easy for me to sub 3 days a week but I limit it to 1 or special reasons. My jobs are all pre done so I don't get the 10:30pm or 5:30am calls.
A lot of subs can work daily if they work at several schools. Like you, my hubby is on the road so I can't do nights and I have to get daughter to/from school.
Retail part time during day time or weekends.
MLM's are not my thing and I tend to steer clear of people I know in them but some people love them. Just be VERY careful if you sign onto one of them. You'll get plenty of offers here.
Good luck.

A.,
Have you ever considered being your own boss so you can set your own hours? I am a single mom of 12 and 14 yr old daughters. To pay the bills I run my own Mary Kay business. I started out knowing nothing and wearing no make up. I currently wear little make up, but I now have great skin and I can still be considered a "stay at home mom" with my Mary Kay job. What I love about it is that anyone I share my business with can ask as many questions as they want and the choice is still in their lap. Are they willing to work when they set their own work hours? Are they teachable? And are they willing to teach others how to care for their skin and then beyond that teach color glamour tips?
I would love to share with you what I do if you are interested. Then the final decision is up to you.

I used to work at American Montessori Center near Willowbend and they were looking for part time child care assistants or teachers. Since I was an Montessori teacher/assistant they needed you full time. But for substitutes they were always looking for people. Since you live in McK. there are Montessori's near Allen. I would check since you want to work part time, and they always need subs. That way they call you when they need you. Hope that helps..

I don't know what school district you are zoned for, but if you are Frisco ISD, you should consider being a school bus driver. I have done it for 10 years, and it's a great job for moms! You only work when your kids are in school! You can go to friscoisd.org to get more info or apply.
