We just moved here from Washington State last weekend. We are looking for a fun place to play around Frisco. Like a park with a fun big toy. We are living near Main and Preston. Any suggestions?

Hi K.! Welcome to Frisco. We moved here a little over a year ago from Northen California. We also live near Main and Preston, and I have a 2 year old and an 8 month old, both boys. The best park, I think, is Frisco Commons on McKInney St. (runs by the police station parallel to Main). There is a paved walking path around a pond and a nice play area for the kids. It's a new park, too, opened about a year ago. Have fun!

Hi,
Welcome to Dallas. There is a great park very close to you. It is on McKinney St. From Preston and Main, just go west on Main (not very far less than quarter mile), then take a right on McKinney. There is some construction going on there so if you miss McKinney St, go a little further and take a right on Meadow Ln, then a right on McKinney St. It is a huge park, several acres, with a wooden-fortress style playground, pavilion, and a sidewalk type walking path that is great for a stroller. My kids love it. Also, since you are new to Dallas, I highly recommend picking up a Mapsco and keeping it in your car. If you aren't familiar with Mapsco, it is a 50-page map with the entire city broken down and every street indexed. They can be found at just about any bookstore. Well worth the $15-$20.
Also, for rainy days, my kids like the little play area in Stonebriar Mall at Preston and 121.
Hope this helps.

Hello and welcome to TX. We relocated from CA in 98. Hope you'll be happy here.

Regarding parks, well I'm not in your area so I can't help there but I suggest going online to the city web page. I did that recently and found a list of all the parks in our area.

Good luck!

K.,

Welcome to Texas. We are blessed to live in an area with lots of beautiful parks. There is a really nice park called Frisco Commons on Main Street. It has a really nice playground for all ages through about 12. There is also a really nice park in Allen called Celebration Park on Malone and Main. I would check the local cities park and rec sites for more info. You neighboring cities are Plano, Allen, McKinney. Good luck as I know there are many lovely parks for you to enjoy.

Frisco Commons Park is right near you & it's an awesome park. It's on McKinney, b/w County Line road and Preston, just north of Main street. It has an enclosed playground.

Hi K.!

I don't have a referral for a park, but I did think it was neat that you recently moved from the Seattle area. We are moving to Frisco in June from Issaquah. It must be a big change from all of the rain we have been getting here this winter!

My favorite park to take my boys to is Frisco commons park. It is off main street after you pass the police/municipal offices. My boys love to swing and climb the toys there. Have fun!

Hi K.,
Welcome to the area! I also live by Preston and Main and my house backs up to Frisco Commons. The kids love it for the wooden playground. We also have live music there at night and plays and various other events there. Good luck!
