Hi Moms,
Was hoping someone may be able to give me an idea regarding the sizing of pampers swaddlers. My 3 month old has outgrown the newborn size ~ is size 1 much bigger than the nb? Should I go with size 1-2? My little girl is now 10 lbs. I'm planning on ordering a bunch of diapers online and didn't want to order them too small. Thanks for your help!
Sheri

I use the swaddlers and baby dry. I have a twelve month of with a very skinny waist. To me they seem to run a little bigger as far as length I think that they should be fine, but it also really depends on the size of the baby as far as proportions. Maybe you could pick up a small package to try it out before you get a ton of them.

Hi. It definitely sounds like to me that you need size 1-2. I wouldn't order too many though because they grow out of that size kind of fast. My daughter has been in size 3s forever!! I don't remember her being in 1-2's more than a couple months. I would only buy a few cases, depending on how long they last for you.

If Pampers is your brand of choice..then size one would work just fine. Size ones go up to 14 pounds. I am a fan of Huggies Supreme...they stretch better than any other diaper I have used and they say they go up to the same poundage but they last a little longer than the otther diapers...meaning I can use them longer...go futher in poundage than they say since they stretch. Thanks!

I did what you are trying to do and I don't reccomend buying too many boxes at once, because you don't know when they will be out grown. If you must buy more than 1 box get 2 but no more. Babies R Us has a great deal that if you sign up, it's free, with their 'card club' (like a grocery store 'member club') you buy 9 get 1 free.

Re: Sz 1-2 these are NOT size 1 AND 2 in one box it's a blend, a mid size diaper for those kiddos who can't wear a 1 but are too little for a true 2. So right now you should probably go with size 1. When those start to get snug, try 1-2. And again when those get snug try the size 2s.

Good luck!

I wouldn't buy too many. I found with my son that he only spent a few months in each size. It wasn't until we got to size 4 that he stayed in a size for any significant amount of time.

at this age i would not order a bunch of diapers at once, our son and most babies tripple there size in the firsst year. when you are at the store look at the weight sizes on packages, if they only go up to 10 or 11 lbs i would go with the next size up. You can also look it up online. We buy huggies brand from Sam's Club its much cheaper. Now that he is older and isnt growing out of a few sizes a month!

Hello S B,

I would go with the Size 1-2. My son weighed 9 lbs 4 ozs at birth and wore these from the get go. It is better for them to be a little big just overlap the velcro like the previous mother said you might have to do. I always go up a diaper size when the velcro tabs on my sons diapers are about 1 inch apart. He is much more comfortable if they are not so tight. I believe the size 1-2 would last longer in the long run for you and your daughter.

My daughter's baby went from Swaddlers New Born to 1's and was on them quite awhile before she went on to 2's...

I have some size one left from her Christmas visit.. that were too small for her by her April visit.... If you live anywhere near Buda.. you could have one and try....

Sheri,

Hello! I have a 6.5 month old that weighs 18 lbs. and she is in size 3's. =) The problem I had with the dipers was they started getting to tight around her waste. If your planning on ordering a few 100ed then i would go ahead and order the pkg with sizes 1 & 2's just in case your little girl decides to grow really quick & by experence they do. =)

GOODLUCK!!

Hi-

My son weighed 10 lbs 15 oz at birth and was in size 1-2 from the very beginning. Most likely you'll be overlapping the velcro in the front in the beginning, but they will fit.

Good luck,
K.

I would buy a couple of the size 1 and then a couple of the size 1-2. This way you can move to the next size without wasting money.

Sheri,

I would go to size one and not 1/2. I ordered some from Diapers.com because they give you $10 credit the first time but after that I usually got to Toys R Us or Babies R Us.

When my son was 10 lbs I ordered a bunch from Diapers.com in size 2-3 (he was leaking out of size 1 and size 2 isn't much bigger). He is now 13 lbs and still wearing the same size so it's worked out well. I like the diapers to be a little big, so they don't leak as much. At first, I just folded down the front piece a bit and now I don't have to do that anymore. Hope that helps!

I would go with the bigger size. (I believe that would be 1-2). Like someone else said on here, the 1-2 is a blend between 1 and 2, and not some 1s and some 2s. It is better to go a little larger than the exact fit, when you're ordering a case from Diapers.com. We do that as well. Also, if she is breastfeeding, the bigger diaper is better for blowouts (because the stool gets pretty loose sometimes). LOL! I am pretty loyal to the Pampers brand, because of the Swaddlers they have, and also because of the reward points. We plan on redeeming them for Leggos, L.L. Bean, or a restaurant gift card. LOL! If you need to order something extra, in order to qualify for the free shipping, you can always order clothes. That's what I did with my little guy. I got 3 t-shirts in his last order, and they were comparably priced with places like Target or WalMart. I wouldn't buy more than one case of diapers at a time, though.

My son only used a couple of packages of size 1. We also ended up switching to Huggies after he grew our of newborn diapers. I didn't like huggies newborn diapers, but the bigger sizes worked much better for him than the pampers. My son actually moved up to size 3 really quickly.
