Paint Disposal

We've cleaned out the garage and have several paint cans some with paint. Is there anywhere in the Mansfield/Arlington area that we can take the paint cans to so that it can be properly disposed of? Thanks!

What can I do next?

You can just take the lids off and let it dry and then put it in the garbage. You can also add kitty litter to it to help it dry faster.

In my city, you can call the sanitation department and they'll pick it up on your regular trash day. Call your city or check their website.

If it's dry you can throw it in the trash. If not there's something you can buy at Lowes or Home Depot to make it a solid and then toss in the trash.

Otherwise, you have to wait for one of those special "paint and other stuff they won't take in the trash" days... which are usually only twice a year.

In the area I live in, you can call the sanitation dept. and they will pick it up. They told me that if it is a small amount of paint, you can open it, let it dry completely and then just throw it out.
