Some women experience round ligament pain during pregnancy.
This is your first pregnancy, I am guessing? I would strongly recommend that you really call your doctor first for anything. Mamapedia is great, but IMO should never take the place of a doctor's advice, ever. We are all nice people and well intentioned mommies (and occasional dads) but truthfully you don't know any of us. If it were me, I would not take medical advice from strangers who cannot even see you, much less examine you.
Should you call your doctor? YES, and now.

Does it feel like someone punched you in the pubic bone? I had this with my last pregnancy #3. I would get up and not be able to walk the pain was so unbearable. Going to the grocery store was agonly, sitting was awful too. I crawled to the bathroom in the middle of the night toward the end so I didn't fall down. I asked my Doc and he said it was just the pressure of the baby and not to worry. I carried without any complications. He was 3.5 weeks early 7lb 8oz and perfectly healthy. I would call the doc and just ask but I am guessing you will be going for your 20 week check up so I would wait(I am not you though) but if you are really worried then call. It started for me about 5 months prego though.

I'd visit a chiropractor who has experience with pregnant women, if I were you. They can really help. If you have pregnant friends, or friends with small kids, ask them if they had one during their pregnancy.
And yes, of course, tell your OB/GYN. Tell him/her every little thing!

I had pain in the lower part of the pelvis (like between the legs) when I would get up after sitting or laying. I also had it with my 2nd pregnancy, but not the 1st. It sucks, but you'll get through it. Good luck and congrats!

I have this problem too. It may be just increased pressure on a nerve
