Painful Fetal Movement...

I'm just curious for those that have had more than 2 pregnancies if its common to have fetal movement that hurts. This is my 3r d pregnancy and my first two boys their movements weren't painful at all. My first would always cause me to have contractions which would then hurt, but movements themselves did not.

However, this little guy is killing me! Every elbow, every turn, my lower abdomen, my hip area (kind where my ovaries are), my ribs etc its horribly painful. To the point where I'm concerned about whether this could not be 'normal'. I don't know what could be wrong, maybe not enough fluid, really big baby, but I literally start to cringe the moment I start to feel him move. Lately, he's been moving like crazy too, so abrupt and just blaaah! I cannot imagine another 10 weeks of this--- with him getting only stronger no less.

They did just do an ultrasound 2 weeks ago and didn't say anything about fluid level or that he was gigantic or anything. I don't know just trying to make sense of it, after he's done with his burst of movement I literally want to just lay around and curl up in a ball, I'm so sore--I feel like I did a huge ab work out or something.

Anyone else have a pregnancy like this?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I've never heard of internal bruising---probably what's going on because that is sure what it feels like. Thanks for the info, love learning new stuff. Just glad to know I'm not alone--sure can't wait for this little guy to get here :) Thanks again

Well I have extra amniotic fluid and my second and this pregnancy have had those. After in head Down position this baby and my last one manage to punch me right in the top of my thigh/ pelvic nerves. It happens so hard that I will do lunges against my will.

My best friend is going through this with her 3rd pregnancy, 1st boy. Chiropractic has helped her keep things in line (like her hips and spine), which has helped the pain tremendously. It's almost how she knows she needs an adjustment again (usually every 2 weeks, she goes). Her OB also doesn't seem particularly concerned.

Also something else that could help is to somehow suspend your belly, so that it hangs away from your body a little. This could help deflect the strength of his movements against your back and organs. I know I didn't describe it very well, but I hope you get a good picture and figure out a way to at least try it :)

my third movements were not always painful...but if I touched a part of my belly that had a limb or something pushing on it it hurt bad. Sharp pain in that area. I felt bad but I did not want anyone touching my belly the last 9ish weeks of my pregnancy...I didn't even want to touch it :*(

You are SO not alone!!!! I am 33 weeks pregnant and every day the movements are more and more painful. I love feeling my baby move but boy does it HURT! I sometimes yell if she kicks me in a tender spot etc. When my second child was born, I had bruising on my ribs and internal organs from him kicking so hard and getting his little feet tucked up so high under my ribs---So, its not uncommon to have painful movements.....Hang in there!!! I feel your pain.

My older daughter used to play footsie with my ribs. I think she was a month old before they stopped hurting.
