Oxiclean -Add to Detergent or Use by Itself?

I've been using it by itself, but the box calls it a "detergent boost". The instructions don't make it seem like I am to use it in conjunction with regular detergent. Does anyone know which one it is?

Update: its the box from Costco called "oxyclean versatile". It looks like box of detergent crystals, but says on the box "boost your detergent power"

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

I don't use it with every load, just in my kids laundry when I know there are some doozy stains in there.

I pre-soak the badly stained items in Oxiclean and add some to the wash. I actually prefer Arm & Hammer Oxiclean Gel detergent, though, the best of two worlds.

Use both. And you don't need to use it with every wash...just the really gross ones.

I use it with detergent but only if the clothes are pretty bad

I use both detergent and Oxyclean. But if your clothes are getting clean with just Oxyclean then you could continue doing that.

I use Oxyclean by it's self when I'm presoaking stains.

There are detergents that include Oxyclean. Perhaps that's what you have?

I add a scoop w/ detergent.

I believe you use it with your detergent or you can soak it in oxyclean prior and then run it through the washer with only detergent. I have the oxyclean baby

Ditto what Christy P said... I just sprinkle some in the loads that are awful, like anything that's bloody, muddy, grass stained, or puked on ;)

I always put detergent in first and then Oxyclean. Oxyclean isn't soap.
