Ovulation After Ectopic Pregnancy Surgery

I had surgery for an ectopic in March and I just ovulated 9 days ago. It was not a normal cycle, I didn't ovulate until day 23 when I usually ovulate on day 17. I did not have my tube removed, so I do not know how that will alter it.

I don't know if this is relevant to you or not, but I too had an ectopic pregnancy and surgery to terminate it. I was 11 weeks pregnant. I didn't have my tube removed. After the surgery, my doctor recommened a hystopenogram (sp?). It is a procedure that pushes dye through your tubes and they take pics of your tubes to make sure everything looks good and clear. It supposedly makes you very fertile too after having the procedure done because it "blows open" your tubes.

You poor thing! You have really been through a lot. My heart goes out to you for your difficulties.

Though I do know that a person's hormonal reaction to surgery is highly variable, your question sounds like one only a medical professional is really qualified to answer.

If it took a lot of persistence to get your doctor to attend to your concerns, I would find a different one!

I am sorry to hear about your loss and difficulties with your doctor. I was 12 weeks pregnant when my doctor discovered that the baby did not have a heart beat. It had taken 10 months for us to get pregnant the second time. I asked him how long I needed to wait until I should try again (I was convinced it would take me 2 - 3 years). He told me to wait one cycle. My DNC was performed on the 20th of December. I had my January period on schedule. A few days later we began to try again. In February I did not have a period, so I called the doctor and went in for a check up. I was pregnant with twins. They are almost 8 years old and very healthy.

I honestly dont remember how long it took me to get back to normal after mine. I also had surgery and had my tube removed since it erupted. But I do want to encourage you, the doctor told me it would be hard to get prego, if I even could after and I have 2 wonderful girls and did not have a single issue getting prego or carrying a baby.
