Overnight Diaper Solution

Hello Everyone,
My 1 year old son always wakes up with the front of his pajama bottoms a little damp. He sleeps for about 10 hours so I understand thats alot for a diaper to hold. The diaper is always heavy. But this really isn't a big issue, just wanted to see what other moms do for overnight protection. I have been told to use the overnight pull ups even though he's not potty trained yet. I currently use pampers. Any advise or tips would be great. Anything to make my son more comfortable. THANKS!

So What Happened?

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. I went to Babies R Us to get the diaper doublers due to they seem to be cheaper then buying overnight diapers, but they were sold out. So I got the Huggies overnights and we've had dry bottoms every since. So again, thanks to everyone and I recommend the Huggies Overnights, but will keep the diaper doublers in mind.

Hi A.,
I also used the diaper doublers, and rubber pants with the overnight diapers, you can also find the diaper doublers at walgreens, and I bought the rubber pants w/ terry cloth lining in them at jcpenney, if you cant find them at the store, see if you can order them, I used both of those products w/ all 4 of my kids (3 boys 1 girl), they worked great for all of them. Good Luck and Happy Birthday!

Hi A.,

One of my friends told me about "Diaper Doublers", it is a pad you put in the diaper for extra protection! It has worked very well for us and I do not have to change his sheets every morning. You can buy them at Babies R Us---30 insert pads for maybe $3.00. Plus I use Huggies for him, they just seem to be more absorbent for boys. I hope this helps!

HI there. I have heard that a "pad" anchored in the problem area can help with the overnights. Good luck. Have a Happy 30th!

Hi A., I had the same problem with my daughter! She sleeps on her tummy alot so all the pee would end up in the front and I would have a mess in the morning. We switched her to Huggies Overnights at night time (i actually still use pampers baby dry during the day) But the "overnight" Huggies are amazing! The only place I have been able to find them is at walmart. I have not seen them in any grocery stores or target yet.

Hi A.!

I have a 10 month old and we seem to have the same problem. I also use papmers and have found that the only time he doesn't wake up in the morning a little damp is when we use huggies. For some reason they seem to hold more, but they don't fit him the same way the papmers do. If you don't mind the somewhat akward fit, you might want to give huggies a try.

Hi A.,

I have 2 boys and have many, many mornings had to bathe my boys again after taking a shower before bed due to there diapers not holding all the pee. I would limit his drink intake at night...try not to give him anything to drink in bed. Easier said than done...both of my boys liked to drink there sippy cups as they were going to sleep. The other things I would suggest are making sure his "weiner" is facing down when you put on his diaper, maybe go up a size in the pampers or you can try the nighttime ones but they don't hold a whole lot more than regular pampers do in my opinion. Maybe check his diaper before you go to bed and change it then if it is already wet. You can also buy those plastic pants that go over the diaper to help hold the pee in so it doesn't saturate the clothes. Those are what I have done in the past. Good luck!

Hi there! My daughter always leaked through her diapers I always did one of two things which worked most times: 1) I layered two diapers, although it gets a little expensive to do that; 2) They actually do have overnight diapers--I think they may have been Huggies brand, but I honestly can't remember b/c it has been a while. Those worked really great, and this is what we did most often. Good luck!

I haven't had this problem , but a friend of mine was telling me that she puts a larger diaper on at night; one size larger than he wears during the day and it seems to hold a bit more and not leak. The other thing I've heard of is an additional liner that you slip within the diaper to provide a bit more absorbancy. I'd check onestepahead (dot) com (spelling dot because mamasource won't let you type web addresses for fear you're trying to sell something!)
