Oven/range
as luck would have it, i just put my condo on market and the oven/range bit the dust. any recommendations for a not so pricey oven/range to just do the basics? trying to stay away from best buy type stores, hoping to find an outlet or such to make the purchase. obviously not trying to go over the top since i'll hopefully be moving out soon but will want to leave a decent appliance for future buyer. thanks much!

Hey-
If you go on google, search chicago used appliances. There are a bunch of places that have good quality stuff gently used. Good Luck!

Try Sears outlet. If you're in River Forest, the closest one is probably at North Ave and just west of 1st Ave. You can get brand new items that are "Scratch and dent". We got our fridge there for 1/2 the original price b/c there is one dent on the bottom of one side that isn't even visible, esp if the side is against a wall. Everything else about it is perfect.

You could try a Sears appliance outlet store. There's one in Melrose Park. The link is below:

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Try Craigs List, one of my friends got great deals on all her kitchen appliances. Also, As a landlord, I furnish kitchen appliances for my apartments. I buy them used from a secondhand shop on the south side of the city. There is a place on 72nd and East End Ave, one block away from Stoney Island. Just a hope East of Starbucks. There are many places like that on the south side catering to renters and landlords. These places are a bit seedy and bargaining is a must! Good Luck!

Try the sears outlet. I know it's off of North Ave (In Melrose I think) and George Street. It is west of Kiddie Land. They have models that usually have a scratch on the side or something like that but less expensive. Great place for appliances, treadmills, etc.
