Oven Cleaning - Ogden,UT
Okay, I usually am on top of this, but for some reason I totally spaced cleaning my oven. And now I have a big mess to clean up. I can't get anything off. Does anyone know of a product that helps get the yuck off? Or a trick? or something that helps you? What is a good oven cleaner? HELP!!! Thanks!

I use EZ off oven cleaner-fume free. Just spray over night and almost everything will wipe right out. If not, repeat. I only cleam my oven about every two years, and everything comes out just fine.

I've used Easy Off in the past. It's a spray on foam that basically eats away at the stuff that burned on your oven. Had good success with it.

Holy Cow, I have the nastiest oven in the western hemisphere! I can't wait to hear your responses. I bought some easyoff awhile back but haven't used it, feel like I am ALWAYS cooking something, you know?

If your oven is a self cleaning oven- do not use cleaners on it.
For my microwave- I put a cup of water with 2 T of baking soda in it and heat it to boiling. The water boils into the air and condenses onto the walls- Everything comes off with a quick wipe.
Perhaps if you did this in a metal pan (put boiling water in it) and heated it in your oven for a while it could do the same thing?

Place a shallow dish with Amonia in the oven over night. The next day wipe it out with paper towels. Attack stuff that did not come off with baking soda, a damp cloth and good ole elbow grease. Then wipe the whole oven with warm water. Works every time.

Oven cleaners can be very toxic. I wouldn't want those fumes in my house. Here is a non-toxic product that is great.

I love easy off!! It rocks. I do it when no one is home, just mom getting the fumes..LOL. Then after the oven is cleaned out I run the oven empty for an hour or so to burn any chemicals left behind. Yep it sticks!
However, we got a new stove with a self cleaning feature..it took me a year to figure this out. If you have a newer stove most have this. When you push the self cleaning button it locks the oven (about 2 hours) and cooks at a really high temp. When you open it everything is ash, you just wipe it out with a rag. No chemicals no fumes. I was torqued when I finally used it because I was still using easy off and didn't realize how easy this method was! Good Luck!
