Outie Belly Button

My belly button has been "popped" since about my fourth month of pregnancy. It looks like a turkey popper! I had my baby 3 days ago and it is even "bigger" even though my stomach has shrunk some. Has anyone had this happen and WILL IT GO BACK TO AN "INNIE"? Any information is appreciated.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thank you everyone! I am new to "mamasource" and love it already! I am going to be patient and wait it out like many of you said (that's great!) But, if it seems to be a problem in a few mths I will check it out w/my doctor. Super advice ladies, Thanks Again!! Bonnie

mine went back but just took some time

Tell your gyno your concern. I think that they can give you a little anesthetic and they can go in there and sew it down.
Not sure, but just ask.

That's totally normal, and it will go back to how it was sometime in the next couple of weeks - 6mths (depending on your body) until your next pregnancy. :)

It will definitely go away once the baby is born! Mine did the same with both babies and I would have to avoid maternity t-shirts because I didn't like the way my belly button showed. It's really funny but I hated it!

I have heard it will go back in on it's own. But, after I had my first child my mom had me put a silver dollar on my outie, with some tape. I did it faithfully each time and it went back in. IT'S A OLDIE, BUT GOODIE.

Mine did the same thing and went back to an innie. You have to remember that there's a lot going on in there and everything has to push outward to make room for the baby. Worry not. The only other advice I have for you is to be consistant about rubbing your belly with vitamin E lotion and/or Mederma through your entire pregnancy! I got lazy and now have more stretch marks than I probably would if I had done it everyday. Enjoy your pregnancy and your baby!
